The diameter of the inner rim that fits down into your pan is 7.625".

The diameter of the outer lip that will sit on the rim of your pan is 8.375".

This will fit a LOT of pans that have nominal measurements of 8". Knowing the exact dimensions makes it child's play to determine whether or not this will fit YOUR pan, without having to try-and-buy.

Fits my 8" Scanpan saute pan very well indeed, and Nordic Ware customer service was VERY helpful in getting me these measurements so I could make sure this lid would fit BEFORE I ordered it. Kudos to Nordic Ware, and I now have a proper lid for my 8" saute pan, instead of having to use the much smaller lid off my small sauce pan! And it is HALF the price of the official Scanpan 8" lid for my pan, so not pricey at all. It's a fair deal.

Well made, fits pan, a pleasure to use. The handle stays cool and it's easy to see the contents of the pan while cooking. Delivered earlier than expected; packed well.

I don't know why Calphalon makes a nice 8" skillet but carries no lid that will fit it. This one fits perfectly. The actual dimensions are listed by another reviewer, so I knew it would fit when I ordered it.

I bought this lid after dropping the lid to my "Hotel Collection" pot and it disentergrated. It fits but not as well as the original lid. It seems loose fitting but it's still workable. I am glad I found this lid, rather than having a pot I love to use without a lid.
