I like it. It's easy to use, takes little care and comes with some nice accessories, such as pop sticks, a drying rack, a little fork and a syringe. Though these items are not made for heavy use, they are more than adequate for us non-pros. If you follow the instructions, you can easily produce doughnut holes/cake pops. This item produces more pops in one batch than other makers on the market. I suspect the balls may be slightly smaller, but to a 6-year-old, that doesn't matter. A dozen at a time is more or less a 'batch' so this model works well. The fork makes it easy to remove the balls from the maker and put them on a cooling rack. We've used a white cake mix, a brownie mix and a gingerbread mix and are pleased with the results. My wife used the injector to put melted marscapone into the gingerbread balls. It did a good job and the results are tasty. The key is to follow the instructions and to have someone who knows how the different type of mixes bake. The brownie mix takes a little longer than the white cake mix. The gingerbread pops took 3.5 minutes, but my wife decreased the water by about an ounce, so the batter was a little heavy. I did the white cake mix and baked them for 4.5 minutes each batch. The cake mix yielded 6.5 batches. The brownie mix produced about two dozen. Now some suggestions. Getting the right amount of batter into each well is crucial to a good pop; too little and they're not as round, too much and you get something that looks like Saturn and there's more clean-up. The brownies had mini-chocolate chips in them and many didn't make it into a ball. To get the right amount of batter and do it quickly, I recommend using a pancake batter pencil. You can add cake batter and squeeze out the right amount quickly. For thicker batters with chips and such, use a cookie press. The press should push the chips through. Trying to spoon a tablespoon of batter into the wells gets messy. You can use a canning (wide-mouth) funnel to transfer batter from your mixing bowl into the pancake batter pencil. Have fun.

I have to start off by saying that these are not traditional cake pops. Usually cake pops are made by mushing up a cooled cake with icing and forming them into balls. This product simply makes balls of cake. And it works beautifully! There are a few tips you should be aware of though:

-Like other reviews stated, you will get "saturn rings"...but only if you overfill! I find the perfect spot is filled to right below the top of the well. This produces perfect little spheres without the overflow.

-You will probably have to use an oven mitt. This thing gets HOT!

-Use a pastry bag when filling the wells. If you don't have a pasty bag, use a large zip-lock bag with the corner snipped off. This allows you to get precisely the right amount of filling without getting it everywhere.

-You MUST must must freeze the cake balls for 15 minutes before putting them on a stick and dipping them! To help them adhere after freezing, dip the stick in a little bit of melted chocolate and then insert into the cake ball. Pop them back into the freezer for a few minutes, and then dip away!

-For a better dipping experience, use a little bit (a tablespoon or so) or vegetable oil to thin the candy melts. After dipping, gently tap the stick on the side of your bowl while rotating the stick to get off excess chocolate.

Overall, this is a great little device that does exactly what it's supposed to do if you follow the directions. I will never go back to hand rolling cake pops again!

I love my cakemaker. I waited a few months for this through Kohls, which was WAY cheaper than Amazon.com. I just got it and I've already made cake pops, brownie bites, doughnut holes, and takoyaki. It is so versatile with the shape and how small it is. Its definitely one of the smaller models of the babycakes series, but it makes for great bite size treats. Remember, cake pops are not going to be the traditional dense ones, but you can still chill the round cakes, put a stick in it, and dip it in chocolate. It still turns out very good. I actually prefer this to the usual dense crumbly ones. It feels more like cake instead of smashed cake pounded together. The takoyaki, which is a japanese food, turned out great; better than expected! The nonstick surface is fabulous and it heats up and cools down very fast. The cook time is amazing as well, only 6-8 minutes.

The only cons I can see is the really short power cord (only two feet approx) and that the outside plastic gets quite warm (almost hot) to the touch when heating and baking. The lid will get loose if you're not careful.

Honest reviews on Review of Download Babycakes CP-12 Cake Pop Maker, 12 Cake Pop

When I first got my cake pop maker I admit I had some of the same problems as others did. However, with further experimentation I found that in order to get sphere cake balls you have to refrigerate your cake batter. I keep my batter in the fridge even while I have some of it baking. When I fill the holes I then put the pancake pen in the fridge as well. If you don't the balls will flatten on the top. I have used red velvet, french vanilla, marble, devils food, etc.

The only issue I have with the make is it gets so hot that you sometimes need to help of a dish rag to get it open. If it feels like the latch wont open push down on the top with a rag and then try the latch. I would highly recommend this cake pop maker to anyone who likes to bake for fun. Once you get the hang of the cake pop maker it is so easy to use. I have baked upwards of 270 cake pops at one time.

If you have trouble getting the batter into the cake pop maker I recommend the Tovolo 80-4784 Pancake Pen 3-Cup Batter Dispenser it runs about $10 you can get it on Amazon or at Bed, Bath & Beyond (20% off coupon will save you $2)

If you want to melt your own chocolate the Wilton Chocolate Pro Electric Melting Pot is wonderful! You can get it on Amazon for $25 or Michaels always has 40% off coupons so you could get it for about $20.

I hope this helped, and good baking!!!

I got excited when I saw this product as I'm a cake pop maker. I had hoped it was a product that would help with the labor-intensive cakepop ball-rolling process. However, on closer inspection of this product I discovered it is simply a small oven to make round balls of cake.

A traditional cake pop is made from baking a cake, crumbling it, mixing the crumbs with frosting, then hand-rolling the crumb/frosting mixture into small balls. You need to then freeze them to a slightly solid state, put in a stick, and then you dip them in a coating.

This product will only give you sort of a baked donut-hole. Which you could then dip in icing and sprinkles. Which will likely be very tasty, but not the traditional cake pop you might be expecting.

Just wanted to make sure you know what you're getting.

Had an expensive non-stick pan and it started to stick after a year so looked for alternative and found carbon steel seemed viable so gave it a try. The pan is very good quality with medium weight steel and good, balanced handle. It has a flat bottom so it works well on my gas stove.

The seasoning process took about an hour, but one thing that I did not expect was how much it smelled and the amount of smoke it generated. My kitchen and whole house smelled for 3 days afterwards. I probably used a bit too much oil.

After it was seasoned, I tried stir frying some chicken with vegy and wow it made a huge difference. It used to take about 12 minutes to cook over medium heat using the non-stick pan (because high heat destroys the non-stick surface). With this carbon steel pan I was able to cook on high heat and it only took about 6 minutes and it was much more flavorful! It's deeper so fits more ingredients and very easy to flip. A 3 course dinner took about 15 minutes to cook.

Is it non-stick? Absolutely! After cooking I rinsed it in hot water and scrubbed with brush then put it back on the stove and heat for a few minutes to dry it up then coat the inside with a few drops of oil.

For seasoning the pan, I would suggest using just enough oil to "coat" the pan and not so much that oil sits at the bottom otherwise it would turn into black tar. Just lightly coat it and burn for like 7-8 minutes until it starts to turn brown, not black. I have seen reviews where others do the seasoning on an outdoor bbq.

Overall, very good quality pan and truly non-stick when properly seasoned and a healthy alternative to non-stick. From what I have read, it's supposed to last a life time :)

Edit: After a few uses the seasoning came off and it started to stick so I re-seasoned it and re-seasoned it until it got completely black from too much burned oil. Wife hated it and made me throw it away. I scrubbed it as much as I could with steel wool then re-seasoned. I think I have finally found the right way. Forget the instruction that came with it. Here's what you do and it will take some time. Drizzle a tablespoon of oil in the pan and wipe it with a paper towel inside and out. Heat on stove until it starts to smoke then remove. Don't burn it. If it burns and turns black it's burned and you need to scub it out. Repeat the process about 2-3 times a day for at least 7-8 days. Then it will have a nice coat of seasoning. Now my pan is dark brown inside and black outside. I can fried an egg and make hashbrowns with minimal sticking which I use a spatula and it comes right off. YOU WILL NEED TO USE MORE OIL THAN NON-STICK PANs otherwise it will stick. I absolutely love my wok love love love!

What I like about this pan:

1) Its not too big and its not too small. It is heavy but not as heavy as cast iron. I love the size and weight.

2) It has a larger flat bottom area than a typical flat bottom14-inch wok.

3) When a Chinese recipe calls for it, Peking Pan can be heated up empty over a high flame until screaming hot without damaging it, and there is no teflon to worry about.

4) The pan seasoned up quickly and turned black right away.

5) I think this is pretty much the same pan I bought back circa 1970s-1980s from Joyce Chen that was called Peking Pan, but which had a coating of some sort which eventually wore off and made the pan unappealing for me to use (I eventually threw it out). But while it was new and in good shape, I loved the way it cooked. This new uncoated version is the same size and shape and looks like it will never wear out. Best of all, it cooks just like the old pan did.

6) Its shape/design/weight make it great for lifting the pan off the burner and "tossing" the food like the pros do. If you have had trouble with this technique, this pan is well suited to learning and executing the pan toss technique.

7) This pan cleans up easily with an Asian style stiff bristle wok brush, and usually just a rinse in hot water takes care of it, but once a a while I will add one drop of detergent to the hot water for more thorough cleaning, yet not so thorough as to disturb the seasoned nonstick patina that develops with continued use of the pan. But either way, its quick and easy to clean.

NOTE: The one thing missing is a lid, but if you have other pots & pans, you can probably press another lid into service that will fit this pan perfectly anytime you need to cover the pan during the prep of a recipe that requires it. The other thing to be aware of if it isn't already obvious is that you shouldn't use it to cook quantities of acidic foods (such as a tomato spaghetti sauce) because they can potentially interact with the carbon steel and may impart an off flavor, and it can also break down the seasoned coating during prolonged contact with such foods. Other than that, I reach for this pan CONSTANTLY. Love it.

This is a great wok. Unfortunately, I was too eager to get started and didn't read the instructions about seasoning it before use. Neglecting that important step resulted in food sticking to the surface. After I scrubbed all the food residue off and performed the seasoning routine as instructed, it has been great and stick free. (I try to avoid the stick-free coatings found on most pans.) The size and ease of handling this wok met my expectations. I recommend it.

Honest reviews on Download Joyce Chen 22-0050, Pro Chef 12 Inch Peking Pan

It's sturdy, and healthy. But it's just too hard to keep the seasoning. I seasoned it in oven and on oven-top, but both are not very good. The first few days after I seasoned it, it keeps non-stick. But the seasoning easily come off even I use bamboo turner and only wash it with water. Then it becomes stick. I have seasoned it for three times, but now I don't want to any more, it's a lot of work. It also gets rusted. So now every time after use, I put a little oil on it and wipe with a tissue, so it doesn't get rusted now. But I think it's a waste of time to do all this. I guess I'll get a non-stick wok soon, if I can find some coating that's not very unhealthy.

Bought this to use in our RV. We tried it out while dry camping with a Honda 3000 generator and I must say it worked like a charm. My hubby broke in the coffee pot and I did as the picture showed and made biscuits for the first time on an RV trip while frying some smoked sausage on the top skillet section. All three worked well at the same time. However, with the top and the bottom elements on, biscuits cooked kind of fast on the top. When I used the top and the bottom, only one of the elements up top were on but when only using the top, both elements are on. Also, as the picture shows, I was able to fit 6 regular sized Grands biscuits and cooked the other two while we ate the first six. :) I'll be trying some 6" Tony's pizzas in it soon.

Our RV has a convection microwave oven but I have yet to get the hang of the convection process but using this all in one made clean up after breakfast much faster so I can get back to enjoying RVing. Also, in the RV it is an extreme space-saver. Overall, I like it and it will get much use on upcoming RV trips.

The product is great for the price. The griddle needs better coating as the first egg cooked on it stuck to it. So.. all it needs is a little cooking spray prior to use. The actual oven is quite small but good enough for one person meal. The coffee plunger spring popped off upon first use as I believe the spring is not sized correctly and one cannot remove the coffee pot once all assembled. Nonetheless, it still works just fine.

I bought it online. The pictures of it were deceptive. Made it look a lot bigger than it is. No temperature control. Coffee pot works good. The griddle is so small but does work slowly. Shows it holding 5 biscuits with room for one more. They must have been mini biscuits.

For the $20 price tag this is a nice enough pan. I don't see it last very long though. It is very non-stick now but I already see a ring of discoloration forming and some is starting to stick a bit around this ring. I've only been using this pan for about a month. It also wobbles on my flat stovetop.

I've owned several other Lodge products, both natural finish and preseasoned. When possible, I've usually been willing to spend and extra buck or two to get the preseasoned version of a cookware, because they've been worth it. The preseasoned cast iron cookware comes pitch black, like someone has cooked 200 pounds of bacon in it. However, something is amiss with this 7qt Dutch Oven it didn't meet my expectation of what a Lodge preseason cookware usually is.

When I got this Dutch Oven from Amazon, I was a bit shocked to find the finish was dark gray, instead of the deep black of evry other Lodge preseasoned item I own. But there were patches near the handle and rim of deep black coating. It seemed like something went wrong during the preseasoning process and that the coating had almost completely peeled off, leaving tiny remnants. There were several small pits on the lid as well. And the inside of the pot felt rough, not smooth like my other Lodge pans.

Amazon did not want the pot back and were nice enough to give me a refund without return. So I called up Lodge to see what was up. They have an incredibly friendly customer assistance team. They even returned my calls and remembered my name when I called them back. Lodge sent me a replacement dutch oven without any hassle.

Unfortunately, the second Dutch Oven looked just like the first. Maybe it was from the same batch, but it just seems like Lodge isn't doing a good job of quality control with this particular item. There was also a half pound difference between the two pots; perhaps this is normal. In addition, the replacement pot had a broken handle.

Having gotten the pot for free, I decided to try it out. But first I washed the pot and seasoned it properly myself! I melted some Crisco, rubbed the entire pot and lid (inside and out) with a LIGHT coating, and placed it upside down in a 425 oven for 1.5 hours (put some foil on the bottom to catch the drips). I turned the oven off and let the pot cool in the oven (otherwise it can crack). Then I repeated the procedure twice. Now I finally had a nice deep black pot! Plus, the inside of the pot had actually become smooth as well!

Due to the enormous size of the pot (12" wide and 16 pounds), the walls seem thinner than the smaller size dutch ovens. So the pot doesn't seem to heat as evenly as Lodge's other products. But perhaps it has something to do with my burners not being large enough for this big pot.

Despite the faults, I actually do like this Dutch Oven. It has always browned meats well and is absolutely perfect for braising on the stovetop or the oven. There's almost no leakage of steam from the lid, so you don't have to worry about adding water during long sessions in the oven. The inside of the lid is different from Lodge's other lids: There are concentric raised rings, as opposed to the spikes on the other models. I like the rings better since it makes the lid easier to clean and season, but it might be less efficient at keeping the food moist. I wouldn't worry about it. I do like the more modern style of the Pro Logic series.

So, if you find this cheap enough (I got mine for thirty-seven bucks), get it and season it yourself. Don't bother paying a premium over the non-seasoned model. But there's also another line of preseasoned Lodge cookware that's not Pro Logic. I've seen that line's Dutch Oven at the stores and it seems to be properly seasoned.

Lodge is still a much better deal than other manufacturers, specially for Dutch Ovens. Ultimately, this is still a good product and will get the job done.

Just received this pot and have used it twice. It comes well seasoned and is a joy to use. Keep in mind that this pot is very heavy (approx 14 lbs) and the good sized handles are a welcome addition. I was somewhat concerned about reports of shipping problems...mine arrived in good shape and the Lodge box was in a larger box with air filled packing.

This pot joins five other cast iron pans and is as good a build quality as ones purchased 30 years ago.

Love the design, but think this new thinner line of Lodge products may not be as good as the regular finish which is thicker and like the piece that my elders have passed down to me, which have been on many a cattle round up, camping trip or home table. Their new enamel line I love.

I own so many Lodge products and love the new Enamel Dutch Oven, in Patriot Red, and the 5 quart size which are better in my opinion than the French Le Creuset and Emile Henry pieces that I own. And its great to be able to buy 'American Made'.

And yes some of their newer items are being made in China now, which is sad. Check thrift stores, eBay for older products they have made. They are awesome. Just wish Le Creuset had the vibrant Lodge colours.

Honest reviews on Discount Download Lodge Pro-Logic P12D3 Cast Iron Dutch Oven, Black

Unlike the previous reviewer, my pot was black and the pre-seasoning finish seems to be in fine shape. In fact, it went straight from the box to hosting a pot roast. Later, a lentil soup. Since both recipes start with oil, I didn't think it'd make a difference to lay on additional seasoning. I have seasoned since then, though. Nothing but excellent results and at an excellent price.

I agree with other regarding the wall thickness but I can't imagine this pot being any heavier. It seems to me that the lid is even heavier than the pot itself!

I have a couple of different cast iron pans. This is my first dutch oven. My only 'complaint' if you can call it that is it isn't seasoned very well.

Yes, it is technically seasoned, but after one batch of spaghetti sauce, (acidic tomatoes) and the seasoning was just about gone.

Fortunately, cast iron is easy to reseason. (Just smokey is all) Other than that, it's a great pot. I've done whole chickens, cajun cooking, and other great stuff. It heats evenly on the stove or in the oven. If you're considering it, buy it. You won't regret it.

I've got lots of cast iron, but this is my new favorite. Here are a few tips for other users. The griddle is perfectly flat and well-made, but it tips from corner to corner on my burners. It's an issue with the design of my burner grates, not the grill. If you have this problem, just fold up a little piece of foil and stick it under one of the edges that tips. Problem solved.

People often complain about foods spilling off a griddle. If that's happening, then you should cook that type of food in a skillet. Skillets and griddles each have their own purpose, The low profile edges on a griddle are suited to foods that stay put but take up a lot of surface area, like eggs, pancakes, steaks, vegetables. They made the low edge so it will be easy to get a spatula under those foods. Foods that produce lots of grease should not be cooked on a griddle, unless it's just a couple of strips of bacon. If you're trying to cook up lots of greasy food, use a skillet. They are designed to hold liquids, hence the tall sides. So, you guys who complain about grease running off your griddle when you cook a pound of bacon, stop complaining and get a skillet to hold liquids.

Yes, the center will be a little cooler than the ends. Don't worry. This is natural. Use it to your advantage. Put slower-cooking things in the center or add food to the center first so it starts cooking before the food on the ends. Just like on a charcoal grill, it can be helpful to have a "cool zone" (actually a not quite as scorching hot zone). Make sure you let it heat up evenly over low heat before turning it up to medium / medium high, this discourages sticking. Also, for you people moving from teflon, never turn or move food in an iron or steel pan until the food has browned. The food does indeed stick, but then releases from the surface on its own when it is browned. Wait for the food to release itself. Be patient. Also, make sure steaks, etc. have no water on them when you put it on the cooking surface. A little oil helps food release, water encourages sticking.

Clean it while it's hot before it can cool off, or food remnants will be harder to remove. Scrape it with a metal spatula. Then wipe it with a paper towel dipped in oil. Done. Also, clean up will be easier if you cook liquids and super greasy foods in a skillet, which is easier to wield (and clean in a sink) when hot. Don't want to leave your clean, hot griddle to cool on the stove? Use oven mitts to cary it to the oven.

This is a great product. I consider it an essential and helpful sidekick to a 12 inch cast iron skillet. It's ready to go right out of the box. Pancakes came out great and did not stick, even though I used almost no oil on the griddle. Works on the charcoal grill, too for small foods that would fall through the grates. Take it camping as an easy to set up grill. Use it in the oven as a cookie sheet. Great for small pizzas with crispy crust.

Great product. We took it on a week long camping trip and cooked fajitas, pancakes, eggs, bacon, you name it on this little griddle. It fits perfect on a dual fual coleman camp stove and was a treat to use. One thing to note: since the camp stove has two different size burners one side gets much hotter than the other. If both burners on your stove have the same output then the griddle will heat evenly. No fault of the griddle, just be aware of what you are using it with. Love the product, considering buying another for our other stove.

Looked all over in stores for a griddle of this size (perfect for RV's or boat stoves) I use it on our boat for almost all my stove top cooking (burgers, eggs, pancakes, toasted sandwiches, etc.) Even though it is pre-seasoned, I have found spraying it with a little olive oil works especially well for eggs.

I don't want to write a review to confuse would-be buyers of this product. I'm not going to write about weight, color, or appearance. It's cast iron. If you're interested in those qualities, move on to another review.

I've cooked with cast iron for decades and tested a few pieces from a certain French company to compare this with. The Lodge griddle does the job of making pancakes, and other morning foods perfectly. One pays a dear price for the French product. Lodge is well worth it for its price. It's a bit more to get use to a larger griddle than I've had in the past, and the griddle marks are likewise a little different than other griddles on the market, but overall it makes the job of cooking breakfast much more enjoyable and easy. Food placed close the burners gets colored (cooked) faster than food placed in the middle of the griddle. Be careful about that. Overall, we want the to cook food properly and not waste anything. This griddle accomplishes that in my view. Clean up is easy as with all well-made cast iron cooking products.

I haven't had an opportunity to use the grill side much. The main thing I've done was grilling some veggies and burgers. It did fine. Just like above. Unlike other cooking pans and skillets, cast iron actually gets better with age. I still use my mother's Lodge skillets and I have to say they are about as close to non-stick as you can get without the chemicals. From what I can tell early on, I would expect this reversible grill/griddle to behave the same way. Whatever side you use most, it appears this griddle/grill will be a good kitchen tool for the right cooks for generations.

Remember to oil very lightly after each use. Use a cheap veggie oil and wipe on with a paper towel. Do it right after cleaning and your grandchildren will be cooking on the same stuff you're using.

This mitt is good at insulating handles from heat... one can hold the skillet comfortably without feeling the heat. I don't think this thing can resist as high temperatures as stated on the product description because mine has already scorched at the edge where it comes in contact with the pan and as a result the fabric is fraying badly. I have never left the mitt in place while cooking, I have only used it to move the pan from the stove to the sink or to lift the pan to serve meals from it so I guess that the black fabric covering the outside of the mitt is not very heat-resistant.

I got this and the Lodge 2 Piece Hot Handle Holder Set at the same time, and this product is a lot better. It's more substantial, thicker, and because it's thicker (although the same size) it fits the handle more snugly, therefore less slipping around.

It does tend to get warm if you leave the holder on the handle while cooking. I don't think that it will ever get hot enough to burn you, though. You should, at worst, feel a little discomfort, and you can just let go before it gets anywhere close to the burning point. I like to leave it on the iron skillets because it's so easy to just grip the iron handle without thinking about it. I didn't notice any searing of the material of this Mitt.

The problem is that if the holder gets wet, it becomes useless as a heat-resister. It doesn't happen often, but all it takes is a drop of water to burn you.

I would recommend the silicone based holders, like HotHandle™ Silicone Cookware Handle Holder that I also got at the same time that I got the Lodge mitt. And no, I'm not a sales rep for them. Even if they get wet, the water doesn't penetrate through the mitt, so you're safe. Actually, I wouldn't recommend this one It's sold by Target, not Amazon, and it's a little bit too long for most Lodge handles.

I really didn't know what to expect when I bought this product, but when I got it I liked it a lot. I can see where it might burn if left pushed all the way on the handle, but I just simply slide it back towards the end of the handle, leave it there, and when I need to move or lift the pan, just slide it back down all the way on. It works like a good quality pot holder, and is a bit non-skid so it tends to grip pretty good. It fits in the hand well, and works as designed. Convenient to use with cast iron since the heat travels up the handles well, and you always need a pot holder or rag to keep from burning your hands. This is a well made product that works as intended. I'm glad I bought it.

Honest reviews on Best Download Lodge HHMT Max Temp Handle Mitt, Black Deals

I purchased this product to use along with my new Lodge cast-iron skillet. During the last three weeks, I've used the mitt on exactly six occasions. Because the mitt heats up if left on the handle of the skillet, I've been careful to remove it after each use. Yet the mitt is already falling apart--there are numerous cracks in the fabric and the stuffing has become exposed, despite extremely light usage.

I do not recommend this product.

I received this as a Christmas gift (along with a cast iron skillet and lid). The mitt lasted less than a monthit scorched, cracked, and then frayed, even though it was never used at a higher temperature than listed. I have since replaced it with a silicon version I bought at Bed Bath & Beyond and it works much better.

Very good so far. Excellent nonstick coating. The handle could have been better (Uncomfortable to hold & gets a little hot. I don't know about the durability yet but so far it seems to be holding up. With all non stick coatings you have to baby & treat them gentle when cooking & washing. Otherwise they will break down. Medium heat to cook with & mild or very little soap to wash with (ALL NON STICK COOKWARE). We'll see in time how good it is. So far so good.

Boy, this is a hard pan to find! Since Amazon.com did not have this item in stock, I contacted T-Fal to see if it was still available and where I might buy it. Here's the reply that I got from T-Fal:

I ended up buying it from shopko.com since Amazon did not have it in stock. The item that I ordered (and received) is the exact part number that was reviewed by Cook's Illustrated.

All I can say is that Cook's was right. This pan has amazing non-stick properties. I've been using the pan for several months now on a daily basis (I'm on a carb-restricted diet, so I eat fried eggs for breakfast every morning) and the non-stick properties of this pan are simply amazing. No sticking. Clean-up is a breeze. I'm VERY satisfied with this pan and will not hesitate to purchase another when this one wears out (hey, nothing lasts forever).

Those who complain that they found this pan model (E9380864) at a lower price elsewhere are confused. They were looking at a different, quite inferior product. This model has been out of stock in stores and internet for months. The other, cheaper model has been mistaken for this one. I know; I bought one of them. The model number was completely different, but I thought it was a replacement. Not so.

OK, I love this pan's non stick... the CI review and the amazon people were right... however the one I got has a definite "hump" in the middle. If you put a tbs of oil in it as per a recipe, it all runs to the sides, leaving the middle dry. if you put eggs in it to fry, same thing. I wish I would have returned it, as no one else has had this issue.... so long story short, check it when you get it, and return it if you get a bum one like I did... I would order another and simply check it for this issue...

After reading about this product on Cook's Illustrated, I decided to hunt for one. Lots of trouble finding it, but at some point, Amazon came through with the T-Fal Professional Nonstick (with thermo spot

and prometal pro interior). After buying Calphalon, Cuisinart and other nonsticks over the years, I have been very disappointed because they really aren't nonstick and don't hold up well. This pan is amazing! I use it for omelets, vegetable sautes, meat sautes and general stovetop uses. It is lighter weight than most cooktop pans, but it is wide with slightly sloped sides so I can get a lot in it. And things saute to a nice brown with minimal fata winner in my opinion! I sure hope Tfal makes this product available again!

No point going overboard, but this is a very, very good nonstick pan. Solid, very nonstick, easy to handle, quite durable. A very good value.

Lodge L5IC3 Cast Iron Lid, 8-inch

The 8" Lodge skillet is great little pan as you probably know. After purchasing it I decided I wanted to add the lid and did so, but there are a couple things you might consider in such a purchase:

1) What was an economical cast iron pan ballooned into almost $30 for the combo. While cast iron devotees probably won't find this a problem, others might want to consider that a lot of excellent stainless lined aluminum 8" pans come with lids and are available for less. In the overall scheme of things thirty bucks isn't a lot of money, but it does cast the economical skillet in a different light when you complete your purchase with the lid.

2) Unlike other Lodge lids, the 8" model doesn't have the "ears" necessary to cover the dual pouring lips on the skillet. This means you can lose heat and moisture when you may not want to. This is particularly odd since they cast this lid with the "drip spikes" specifically designed for moisture retention.

3) While this is somewhat subjective, the quality doesn't appear to be the same as the 10" and 12" lids I have for other Lodge products. The casting doesn't appear as smooth and the lid doesn't fit as precisely as the larger lids. I belatedly tried another 8" lid (from an All-Clad saute pan) and found it to be a better fit than this Lodge lid.

I don't have a gripe against Lodge and, as you can tell by the many glowing reviews, people here on amazon love the product line. I just thought providing some information I discovered after my purchase might help you make a more informed decision.

Ordered this to use with my eight-inch Lodge cast iron pan. Same quality as Lodge pans, heavy and solid. Pretty straightforwardit does the job for which it was intended and it nests upside down in the pan nicely enough to store easily.

I do wonder why lids cost more than pans, but given none of the Lodge pans and lids are very expensive, especially compared to other cookware with much shorter lifespans, I don't have a problem with it.

Also, kudos to Amazon for continuing to mail even heavy items without shipping charges. That policy, and responsive customer service during this period of price gouging and an enraging lack of customer service across all industries, ensures I remain a loyal customer of Amazon.com. So two thumbs-up, Amazon!

The cheapies don't have the little nipple things that enable better dripping off the lid. Another quality Lodge cast product. After trying several cast brands from cheap to expensive, it's made in the USA Lodge cast iron only for me.

This is fantastic. I never knew that the cast iron line even had lids. They are a perfect fit and extremly heavy!

It's Lodge, it's preseasoned, it's cast iron. How could you go wrong? It didn't fit exactly as I'd hoped, but the pan I bought it for isn't a Lodge cast Iron Pan, it was a hand me down, and no idea what brand. The lid fits good enough and when I buy other Lodge cookware, I know it will fit perfectly. One piece of advice, once you get that set of Lodge coookware, make sure it moves wherever you move, one of the few reasons you might ever have to replace it.

I am very pleased with the look and feel of this bowl. Pretty, sturdy, and functional. I whisked my vinaigrette right in the bottom of the bowl with no scratching of the interior wood. Glad I purchased this! Just the right size for my family of 5, although I'll admit that I sometimes eat the whole bowl of salad all by myself.
