I've had a handful of pieces of LeCreuset Stainless Steel Cookware for about two months, cooking roughly 19 meals per week. They're all great performers and very attractive. This line is basically All-Clad Stainless for 30% less. They are made in China, which is a sticking point for some people, but I am convinced that quality has not suffered. The origin is clearly marked on the box, and on the bottom of the pan--it's not hidden at all. It's simply an incredible pan for a better price. Other reviews state that this line approaches or equals All-Clad Stainless, and surpasses Calphalon Stainless.

These pans are fully clad, meaning the aluminum core extends up the sides; it's not only in the bottom. They are incredibly responsive on my gas stovetop. I actually thought they were too fast when I first got them, but now it's just another quality I appreciate. They heat quickly and extremely evenly. You often use a lower heat to achieve the same results. America's Test Kitchen faulted the Le Creuset 3-Ply Stainless-Steel 3-Quart Saute Pan (recommended with reservations, but still well-liked) for running a little hot, and I don't have that pan, but I have no trouble simply using a lower heat with all the pans I do have.

The handles are comfortable, a good length, and rarely get too hot (obviously, they get hot during oven use). They are made to fit through the handles of the lids, which is a convenient storing option. And incidentally, the lids are great, since they're stainless, too, instead of glass. This means no crud build-up around the edge, and they seal great. The same lid from my Le Creuset Tri-Ply Stainless Steel 3-1/2-Quart Covered Chef's Pan works on this skillet.

The bottoms are curved just right, so whisks and utensils fit in easily, allowing you to stir thoroughly and clean easily. The rolled edge truly does make pours a no-drip affair. The pan is balanced and light, but with enough heft to feel substantial and well-made. Because of the curve of the sides, this pan's flat cooking area is about 8-1/2 inches. That's fine for a lot of home cooking, but if you're a family of four, you might consider the Le Creuset 3-Ply Stainless-Steel 11-Inch Fry Pan, and if you regularly cook for more, or expect leftovers, you should probably just get the Le Creuset Tri-Ply Stainless Steel 12-1/2-Inch Fry Pan. (I personally want both ethe 9-1/2 and the 12, to cover pretty much any task.)

It has an excellent lifetime warranty. Thankfully I haven't had to use that, but I did use it with a Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron 15-3/4-Inch Oval Fish Skillet, Flame, and was very pleased. (It was a lengthy process at nearly a month, but given that I got a brand new replacement for a $200 pan that was 4 years old, it seemed quite generous.)

Quality cookware like this makes a big difference if you cook frequently. It gets to temperature faster, heats evenly without burning in spots, recovers quicker and keeps its temperature easier. Since it handles well, it's more pleasant to cook with, moving easily around the kitchen, and holding still on the cooktop.

It cleans easily. I use regular dish soap most of the time. Bon Ami 04030 Bon Ami Cleaning Cake and Powder, 12-Ounce is my regular scouring powder, though Bar Keepers Friend® Cleanser & Polish: 12 OZ leaves the pan with a little extra sparkle (powder only, I Strongly dislike the liquid), which is nice since these pans are so pretty. Le Creuset makes a Le Creuset 12-Ounce Stainless Steel Cleaner, but I haven't yet tried it.

I love the LC Stainless cookware I have, and am looking forward to getting a little more.

Le Creuset's reputation rests in part on its history of production in northern France. Advertising materials tells the story of its origins and stress the French connection. However, like so many kitchen items now, this Stainless Steel 9 1/2 pan is made in China, a fact not listed anywhere in the production description on the net, the text on the box, the booklet, or the pan itself. One must search for a very small label stuck to the box. With the numerous discoveries of dangerous production shortcuts in Chinese manufacturing, many people want the origin of a product to be disclosed openly so a fully informed decision about the purchase can be made before receiving delivery. A trusted brand like Le Creuset, that prides itself on the often repeated link to France, should not hide the real origin of its pans.

The Webber Q Griddle is a must have option to the Q Grill along with the stand. It is a heavy, well made casting with a very tough finish. It easily cooks breakfast foods but will bake those canned biscuits perfectly, just lay some foil to keep from over doing the bottoms. I use it all for camping with excellent results. There's a fairly quick learning curve to figure out the best settings etc. When I get home I place the dirty griddle face down on my regular grill, close the top and crank it up and burn it off. I gently wash the residue off later. There's lots of different types of cooking you can do with the the griddle, top open or closed, generally anything that you don't want to fall thru the grill grate or be exposed to the direct flame. Don't go camping without it.

This Griddle not only fits the Weber Q grille perfectly but it cooks perfectly. Just put it on and close the lid to get it hot and then cook away. It holds the heat and food doesn't stick. I was shown this product by another camper who was watching me assemble my new grill at the campground. Seems to be something of a cult following with the RV crowd with these weber Q grills.

Once he showed me the griddle, and the beer butt chicken cooker, I imedelatly had to have one.

First thing I did was get on amazon, find the best deal and ordered both. Typical Weber high quality product with the particlar design aspect that allows you to grill and griddle at the same time. Awesome for making sausage and eggs for breakfast when camping.

While the entry cost into the Q system is a little steep, I wish I had purchsed these products years ago as I now understand why they are well liked and prevalent with the RV crowd.

The beer butt chicken holder is a must have as well.

Cooked up 2 pounds of bacon on this, worked good. There are little pouring lips on the corners so you can grab the whole griddle with the provided handles, scoot the bacon to one side and tilt (very much under control)pour the grease off to save for cooking other things. Quite heavy, probably about 10 lbs. We store it in the box it came in.

I bought the 8-3/4" and 6-1/2" skillets and am very happy with them. I am 83 and had used cast iron kettles/skillets for many years before teflon. Of course, when the newer technology came on the scene and we were supposed to now have stick-free cooking utensils, I bought some. I put away my Grandmother's old cast iron 10-1/2" skillet and large kettle, but did not discard them. After buying and discarding the newer utensils because they kept failing, I am back happily using my cast iron again, and I love it! Properly cared for these cast iron products can outlast generation after generation.

I'm an outdoor grill cook -big time. I got the Calphalon Grill Pan as a birthday present, and I must admit I wasn't too enthused. Why would you want to pretend to grill indoors, right?

Well, a nice steak and a rainy day gave me the opportunity to try my pan. I cooked the steak over medium heat on an electric range, and the results were fantastic. I ate the tenderest steak I've ever cooked on a stovetop, rivaling the tenderness I get from the grill. Sure, you can't mimic the flavor of cooking on an outdoor grill, but the look (grill marks) and tenderness were identical. I got a slightly sauteed taste because I had a trace of butter and oil in the pan -enough to make a thin layer coating the bottom. The taste was definitely different from an outdoor grill, but regardless the meat tasted excellent. I seasoned it just like I would for the grill before cooking.

Being a natural skeptic, but enthused by the results with the steak, I decided to try the pan again cooking boneless chicken breasts. Same results! Super tender, juicy, and great looking meat came out of the pan. I'm sold. This is the pan for me when cooking grill meat indoors.

The secret to nonstick is to let the pan heat up fully over medium heat (no higher) before putting the meat in the pan. Putting a little butter and oil in the pan, and waiting until the butter turns golden brown lets you know when the pan is ready to use. Soaking the pan in warm water immediately after cooking makes for easy cleanup. Enjoy!

I purchased this Calphalon Unison Nonstick 12 Inch Round Grill Pan along with the Calphalon Unison Nonstick 12 Inch Round Griddle Pan and love it! The "nonstick sear" surface used on this grill pan does just what it says, giving just enough grip to hold meat in place while still releasing easily when flipping the meat or removing it from the pan.

I will confess that I have not used this pan anywhere near as much as the griddle, but that is simply because we do not grill a lot of meats on the stove. I have done several steaks, however, and they came out juicy and delicious. I'm usually a picky eater and never eat the fat on a steak, but this pan cooked a ribeye so well that I ate the whole thing! The grill surface kept the meat from frying on the bottom, but it still retained plenty of moisture and all the flavor. (These steaks were not marinated, just seasoned with salt and pepper.)

The main points for this pan are:

* Nonstick (just enough grab for cooking meat, but nothing gets stuck to the pan)

* Oven-safe (have not tried this pan in the oven, only the griddle)

* Easy to clean (wipe with a paper towel first to get the grease)

* Handle stays cool while cooking (except in the oven)

* Large size can cook more food at once

While I have not tried cooking anything but steaks with this pan, it is by far the best grill pan I've tried. It probably won't see quite as much use as the griddle pan, but I don't see myself cooking a steak any other way from now on. Highly recommended.

Note: As with any nonstick cookware, avoid using metal cookware. I bought a set of silicone-coated tongs for flipping steaks and they work great.

I have tried numerous grill pans from brands like Cuisinart and Emerilware (and some other crap brand i can't think of). All of these were lacking for one of the following reasons: bad size, not dish washersafe, general crappiness. This grill pan suffers none of these issues. Dishwasher safe being of particular importance. Everyone knows philyodaddy doesn't do handwashing. Hand washing is about as much fun as scrubbing toilets and drinking Genessee Cream Ale.

In summation, I'd say its the finest piece of cookware I have purchased to date. At the low, low price of $39.99 (I see now it is $49.99 and still great value!), I should have bought two of these bad boys. It may surprise some of my review readers, but I am a wizard with meat and this brings my kitchen game up to the next level. I cooked the crap out of some nice lamb chops yesterday. If I had any friends, they would have loved them.

I have had Calphalon cookware for 20 years. It has never disappointed and this line is no different. I bought this pan to do Bison steaks and burgers and it is fabulous. Last night I had done a few onions in the pan first and then the burgers so it was pretty well carmelized down in the grooves and really a mess. I thought there was no way this was coming clean in the dishwasher. Well it did!! Pristinely clean like new. My old Calphalon grill pan without the nonstick surface is going to Goodwill today.

Furthermore, if you don't know it Calphalon is one of the rare companies left in America that actually stands by their guarantees. I have had several pans replaced over the years because of the kind of stove I have. When they say "lifetime guarantee", they mean it!

I purchased this pan because I love to grill but I'm not always in the mood to fire up the Weber outdoors. Having used it now for a couple of months, I have to say that I absolutely love this thing. I've grilled chicken cutlets, chops, burgers, bacon, and steak and everything turned out great. The pan is large, made of solid construction, heats uniformly, and is easy to clean. The design allows the meat to cook above the grease and the grill lines on the cooked meat are impressive. With chicken and chops, I use a light coat of olive oil and have had no difficulty with clean-up with a sponge and some dishwashing liquid. Just follow the instructions, bring it to heat gradually and let it cool completely before putting it in water so it won't warp. The pan looks as good as the day I took it out of the box. I'm now a big fan of Calphalon Unison and also purchased the Unison nonstick saute pan. A great value for the price in my opinion.

After 6 months of Sunday Crepe breakfasts for the family I now regularly get excellent Crepes (almost) with this Crepe maker without resorting to the professional Krampouz. As usual you have to practice, practice, practice.

Here are a few recommendations:

Ditch the plastic crepe helper. It's similar to the foaming helpers in Espresso machines, it gets total novices over the initial contact hump but quickly stops you from making any decent progress with the product (Crepe). The tool creates a messy experience and creates uneven crepes.

Second ditch the scraper. It's very hard to get good crepes if you prefer the very liquid kind of dough (which I like). Instead get a round Birchwood scraper. They tend to be larger as well ( 8 inches or so). The round surface allows you to evenly spread the dough ( AMAZON sells them )

Third ditch the spatula. It's simply to short. If you make a real crepe, a really thin crepe the provided spatula will just pierce through the crepe when you lift it to turn or take off the crepe maker. I got a 23 inch Birchwood spatula and am very happy with it.

Fourth: There is no magic to crepe if you follow my advice, use this great crepe maker and practice, practice, practice. I use a simple crepe recipe. You need to play with the temperature and times a bit. My crepes are done within 50s on the first side and 30s for the other side. Experiment and watch videos on the internet.

I bought this in July 2009 for a Bastille Day party it was a huge hit! I practiced a few days before the party and couldn't have been happier. Thought it was a little pricey, but has proven to be worth every cent. Fist crepe or two will be a mess, but just keep trying. MAJOR improvement from just using a frying pan. The flat surface allows you to make larger and thinner crepes. We do not use the pre-measured well or scoop. We do use the wooden tools that are included and that is all you need, I just pour an amount in the middle and can eyeball the correct amount. Then I quickly spread with the wooden t-shaped tool to spread the batter evenly. Watch YouTube videos of crepe making to get the process down. We do not grease our surface before cooking b/c I use a recipe from the internet that contains melted butter and nothing ever sticks. This item cooks EVENLY and I use setting 3 for my crepes other setting cook to fast for me. I do not use the included recipe book, but they do look good. I typically make my mix in the blender and it keeps for 48 hours, allowing me to whip out a crepe for breakfast and dinner 2 days in a row. I also like to cook one side, then flip, then crack an egg on top of the cooked side, let it cook for 1 or 2 minutes, then flip again and add cheese with enough time to melt and then fold and serve. Got this idea from YouTube video of a pro crepe maker. Ignore videos of crepe makers that are not on the street cooking crepes in front of customers the other videos are a huge waste of time! Long and short of it GREAT investment for your kitchen!! I even take mine on vacation to the beach! Enjoy!

I have used this product twice and I am very impressed with the uniform cooking of this Crepe maker. The large 13" nonstick surface makes perfect crepes everytime... no more throwing out the first crepe! The plactic spreading device makes it easy to evenly spread the batter for beginners. The crepe maker is much more substantial than the picture shows, in my opinion. I found the suggested thermostat settings a little too hot causing the crepes to brown too quickly but, after lowering the temperature, I was knocking out multiple banana/Nutella crepes in a matter of minutes. The results are much more like the crepes I got in Paris than ones I've made in a crepe pan.

Ever since a first visit to France, we've been trying to find the perfect home crepe maker and for us this is it. The directions are very specific and should be followed to the T, with one exception: the included measuring cup for batter is not quite big enough and a touch (maybe about 2-3 Tbsp.) more batter needs to be used for each crepe. Also, when you start the spreading action, it tells you that it needs to be completed in 4 seconds and this is true! You must be really quick. Our favorites are strawberries and nutella and for savory, fried egg (which can be done right on the crepe maker prior to making your crepe), spinach, mushrooms and shredded cheese.

We bought this crepe maker to make a few crepes as an additional product for our vending business. We averaged a couple dozen in a half a day since it wasn't the main product. It worked OK the first time but then it just shut off. After it cooled off, it worked again but we tried it another day and it shut off again. I know it's not made for commercial use but I didn't expect it to shut off after only being turned on less than a couple hours. Just know that this is for home use and probably won't be turned on that long so it will should be OK for the average user.

That being said, it's a nice crepe maker. It has kind of a Teflon coating so the crepes don't stick. It doesn't take very long to heat up. Crepes cook a bit too fast so if you want to put Nutella, fruit or other ingredients in the crepe while it's on the crepe maker you'll have to hurry putting them on to heat them up before the crepe burns. Crepes made with this machine are definitely better than ones made with the cheap makers you find in the common stores.

Pros:

1. Nice large surface. 4 oz of batter will make a full size 13" crepe.

2. Cooking surface in non-stick. Easy to pull the crepe off.

3. Not heavy so it's easy to move and store.

4. Uses normal 110 electricity and 12 amps so it won't throw a breaker in most American homes.

Cons:

1. Settings are not realistic. Highest setting is 8 but if I put it higher than 2 the crepes burn. Cooks a bit fast even at that setting.

2. Can't leave it turned on for very long because it gets too hot and shuts off.

3. Tools that come with it are next to worthless. Buy the wooden dowel spreader (on Amazon). That's what the pros use and as long as you drag it through the batter and not try to push the batter, they work great, creating a perfect round crepe.

We have all owned at one time the cheap mesh splatter screens, but the Pampered Chef Splatter Screen puts them all to shame. As pictured, the screen is designed for frying pans because it has a handle cutout which also helps the screen stay in place (whereas the cheap mesh screens tend to slide off toward the weight of the handle). The best part about the screen is that it folds in half so you don't have to get splattered with hot oil! The rubber grips allow you to fold the halves over without burning yourself on the screen; however, the rubber grips do get hot so you have to be careful and maybe use a towel or oven mitt to ensure your hand doesn't get too close to the flame. Also it's super easy to clean and I have put it in the dishwasher. Since it folds, it stores nicely! I highly recommend this and I believe Pampered Chef is the only company that makes it at present, although I believe other companies, including Princess House, have made it in the past.

Well I will say I originally wanted a skillet of this size, which aren't made in too many brands. My first venture was with the one of this size with glass lid made by presto, I quickly returned it due to the non stick coating coming off after only a few uses. This one made by Food Network is the one I turned to to replace it. So far I have had it for 3-4 months and use it frequently, and have had no problems at all with it. The non stick coating is nothing like the presto brand, it is of a much higher quality and has someone of a micro waffle texture. It seems because of that, the coating is smooth and consistent across the whole thing making it stand up to spatulas and cleaning without any coating flaking off what so ever! This is what I especially love, because that was my main problem with the presto one. The design is nice and feels extremely sturdy. The legs have a rubber bottoms on the feet so it will not scoot around on the counter while cooking either unlike the presto. If you notice in the pictures and the description there is a little cut out in the pan so that you can pour off grease or other liquids. This was my only main concern when purchasing this skillet. I was afraid if it had an air vent that large, when I was simmering something using the lid, it wouldn't be air tight like you would think it needs to be. I have made many things in it sense that needed to sit and simmer in their juices and steam, and this vent has not been an issue at all. I don't know how exactly but even though it lets out a bit of the steam, the food is just like it would be if the hole weren't there. I do only have one issue with it, but it is simple to overcome. It is a little difficult to see the temperature gauge when it is plugged into the unit. To fix this all I do is turn it to the temperature I want before I plug it into the unit and then when ready, plug the other end into the wall. Besides that little issue, it is a great skillet, extremely large! Very nice!

I just bought this skillet at Kohl's and will be returning it tomorrow. While generous in size, it is impossible to read the temperature control once it's plugged in -it is totally hidden by the skillet handle. Pictures accompanying the skillet (on the box and recipe book included) show a different view from what you get. Seems the handles have moved away from the skillet and now cover the control. Very disappointed.

This is a really nicely made skillet, perfect for any small scale frying task. About the only thing wrong with a previous version was that they left a flat edge around the rim of the skillet, and it tended to catch liquids, which would burn and be difficult to clean. This one has a slight arch in the rim surface, which keeps most liquids from settling on it. No complaints, and expect many years of regular use from it. Cooks evenly, feels solid.

I am an avid home chef & treasure high-quality cookware. These are great! They are thinner (but harder) than many brands, which I truly love. Lower heat settings can be used for comparable results in other cookware, which saves energy, money, & severity of burns if the user is accident prone.

Some things to know:

1. These pans are designed to be hung on a rack. Hanging does save your cookware from a lot of those small injuries caused to them by stacking.

2. The Quantanium non-stick finish is like Teflon on steroids! I use about 1/4 the oil/butter I normally used in the older versions of Teflon. As mentioned above, a lower heat setting is also necessary. These are very easy to clean (except the stainless steel "buttons" where the handles are attached everything sticks well there).

3. Although they say "Metal Utensil Safe", DON'T! Save the metal utensils for your cast iron & stoneware.

4. Non-stick cooking spray tends to eat finish on pans. Preserve them by washing well with soap & water as soon as they are cool. TIP: NEVER, EVER put a sizzling hot pan in water or dump cool water into it! This causes warping that basically ruins the pan. Move the pan to an unused burner & let it cool naturally before washing.

5. With the small steamer insert, never fill the pan over one inch above the bottom of the insert. With the stockpot insert, 2 inches. This can be pushed to nearly 3, but the mess from overfilling is big.

6. Enjoy & care for these pans! You won't ever have to buy replacements for them as long as you don't abuse them.

I purchased this 14pc set of cuisinart pots and pans, after many comparisons and shopping around. I was initially more interested in purchasing Circulon Elite, but I wasn't too happy with the sizes offered in the set. Anyway, I am extremely happy that I purchased this set instead and here's why...

The price is great! This is a high quality product! There are 14pc included and they are all in useable sizes, the only additional thing you many need is a 12"skillet, but I have been fine without one so far. The 4 quart saute pan is wonderful!!! And I absolutely love the steamer basket, that was a huge selling point for me because I steam veggies everyday! I am very impressed with everything about these pots and pans! The non-stick finish has been very durable so far, and extremely easy to clean. They cook evenly with no hot spots, etc. One important thing to note that makes this set different than most other hard anodized cookware, is that these are made with an aluminum core. So they have a hard anodized exterior and a non-stick interior, but the aluminum core makes them quite a bit lighter in weight to most other products. I consider this to be a positive thing, I don't need to break my wrist washing a pan. But if you use your pans as weapons, consider something else. =) The exterior finish is awesome, its a smooth hard anodized finish and very easy to maintain. Another review complained about the exterior, that "it looked cheap and no matter how she cleaned them they looked bad"... well, she's crazy!!! These look awesome!!! The clear lids are very helpful, although they do tend to get hot so using a rag when lifting is advisable. But handles on the pans seem to stay cool, no problem.

Anyway, if you are considering this cookware and are comparing it to more expensive brands, then save your money! You will not be disappointed with this purchase!

I got these on sale last week from Amazon at . Totally worth it. They are nice and heavy, heat evenly and the non-stick is amazing. You can put them in the dishwasher but it makes the outside of the pan turn a chalky dappled grey color. You really should hand wash them unless you don't give a crap how the outside looks.

The metal and glass lids can get hot while cooking but that's why they make over mitts but the great thing is, since these pans do not have the rubber coated saftey handles you can transfer from stove top to oven for a broil without having to worry about ruining your handles [like the old Revere Ware].

Update: 2009 and the pans have not yet fallen apart. The larger cookpot is showing some wear on the nonstick finish after heavy use. I also admit to using metal utensils on the product. The lids are in great shape and have not cracked or chiped and all the metal handles are still bright and shiny and not loose depite me washing them in the dishwasher.

15 years out of school and in desperate need of new pans, I researched for months on cookware brands, materials, pan-types and price. I purchased the Cuisinart 14-piece set based on my research & the enthusiastic commentary of so many other long-time users.

In every day use, this Cuisinart cookware has met my expectations. All of the pans including the skillets can be used with the lids included in the set. You won't get as many lids as pans, but having a perfectly-fitting lid on hand for both the 8" & 10" skillet is rare, and really nice.

The cookware pieces are attractive, well-made and perform exactly as described by the manufacturer. A smooth finish inside and out means that hand-washing is easy; food just does not stick in the pans. The rivets are easy to clean, too -these are big pluses since my schedule does not allow for much additional time for chores.

I tend to use medium to medium-high heats for most dishes, and haven't needed high heat to get quick & even results. I don't have a kitchen large enough to hang the cookware pieces, so I stack/nest them in my cupboard, using Wonderliner padded shelf inserts between them to mitigate against any scratching. However, the Cuisinart Cookware's nonstick surface has been quite durable and the set shows no signs of interior nor exterior wear.

The steamer insert is great for vegetables and Asian dumplings (I never use the pasta insert.) I couldn't find the steamer insert sold separately, and you can't use a metal fan basket steamer on the nonstick surface, so buy the 14or 17piece sets to receive it. I use wood and silicone-based utensils with the set.

I own other cookware (Cuisinart Multiclad, Staub & Le Creuset) to cover a full range of cooking needs. Nonstick is essential for certain applications; all in all, it truly has been a terrific set for me.

I never write reviews, but this one is worth it! Cleanup is a snap, even baked on cheese. Normally I dread cleaning pans and just toss them in the dishwasher. I did abide by the instructions and washed them by hand. Egg, grease, baked on cheese, you name it. A little hot water and soap under the faucet does the trick.

I'm tossing my other pans.

the only con that i have is the handles are not insulated so they are as hot as the rest of the pan. Other than that, this line of cookware is the best i have ever used and I have the skillets and pots and it makes cooking and clean up much easier.

These lids are very well made. They are heavy with thick glass and well mounted handles. No possibility of the handles wobbling after time in my opinion (the cheap stuff does that). The seals are accurate with the popular 2 piece Calphalon set sold everywhere. I will wear out the pans before I kill these lids for sure. Finally, they hold the heat in very well which is great for my omelets, fajitas and crepes. I think they are a great investment and a perfect companion their respective pans.

I bought these to use with a warehouse deal item on an 8" and 10" fry pan set. These are very nice, sturdy lids. Unfortunately, the fry pans were 8" and probably 10-1/4" as the lid was slightly smaller than the fry pan but the lid did measure 10". I will keep these as I can use them with other pans. They are nicely made and I like the glass lid to see what's cooking in the pan.

The lids fit wonderfully and I love that I can see through them. Unfortunately one was damaged at the weld and that was a disappointment. It isn't severe enough to warrant sending back but it keeps me from giving the product 5 stars.
