I bought these pans for my sister for Christmas. She liked them very much, so I bought them for myself as well. They are very good pans. The bottom is heavier than I'm used to, so it takes slightly longer for the pan to heat, but once it does, the heat is very well distributed. The nano ceramic coating makes cooking easier in that you need very little, if any, oil. I'm thinking about getting the saucepans as well.

I have been using this set of skillets for 2 months, and so far the non-stick surface is holding up perfectly. I sometimes use oil in the skillets, but have never used cooking spray. I think the red color is attractive. The fruit pattern is a little odd, but I store the skillets in the cabinet so it doesn't matter. The largest skillet is uncomfortably heavy with the lid on, but it is nice that I can mix up a sizable casserole in it easily. My complaints are that the lids don't fit snugly (more steam escapes around the edges than through the vent in the lid), and that the smallest skillet is very poorly balanced. It's handle is the same size as the handles of the larger skillets and is too heavy, making the skillet prone to tipping. Also, the bottoms of the skillets are not flat, but have a pattern that makes it hard to seat them firmly on my old-fashioned electric burners. Despite the problems, I like the skillets better than the Teflon ones they replaced. If the surfaces don't hold up well in the long run, I will update this review.

Yes, fantastic pans! The ceramic is so much better than non-stick Teflon pans. They heat very evenly with the aluminum base, and they sit perfectly flat on my flat-top stove, an important component to flat-top stove cooking. Not used to using metal utensils on them, so I continue to use plastic only. They clean so easily, and the red with the flower detail is very pretty. I keep them on an outer shelf instead of storing them in a cabinet. Delivered so quickly and purchased with credits from my Amazon VISA.

The skillets arrived with minor scratches on the ceramic coating on the lip of two of three skillets (which made me wonder how soon will the rest peel). I was willing to keep them though, but needed a replacement of one of the two lid knobs. The lid knobs arrive in plastic baggies and need to be attached after receipt. One of the knobs had the plastic interior where the screw goes cracked in half with dust all over the bag. To make the story short, I had to return the entire order b/c seller can not be contacted (try googling them) and Amazon does not replace parts. Did not get a chance to see if the coating would hold up.

This is my favorite pan and I have had it for at least a year. The trick to this product is to really not to wash as often as you can but to wipe it clean. Use a little oil if you must but it looks like the day I purchased it. I only wish it had a lid, but I make my own with aluminum foil then toss it after cooking. I have put it in the dishwasher and it comes out very clean and ready for use so please don't think I mean to not wash it often. I plan to purchase another one for sure.

I'm not sure about the reviewer who said the pan sticks. This pan is so easy and perfect to cook with. I have made fried eggs, fish, chicken, sauces, pancakes and more. I barely have to use any oil at all. Definitely love this and glad I took the chance to spent $100 on a pan.

I have bought all three sizes, they are fabulous to cook with, even heat distribution, cannot believe how slippery the surface is, food slides right out. If you never buy another pan buy at least the 12 inch if only one but the 10 inch is also awesome. Just frigging amazing ceramic coating. Don't wait!!!!!!!

I don't know what our how the previous reviewer used this pan, but I have been using it for several months in a professional restaurant and it works flawlessly. I throw this pan into the oven all the time, cleanup is easy if you let it soak for a minute.

This is a heavy duty fryer, and by far the largest and best we have ever had. Heats up quickly and maintains heat well. Using for bacon, eggs, pancakes, swiss steak etc. Also like the lever to aid in removing the electric plug from the fryer.

I got this a few weeks back. I am thrilled. My mom uses this same pan for about 20 years now. And I have to say this one seems like it will last me that long too . I have been slowly switching from nonstick to regular steel and anodized. I had calphalon but somehow the shape did not quite satisfy me. I got tramontina from walmart 18/10 set which is awesome but still not the right shape. I searched and found this online and I am beyond thrilled. THis is my go to pan. I wish I had never purchased all the other stuff . This pan and maybe a bigger one for those extra occasions would have totally sufficed

. Now getting to heating...awesome.

Burnt food cleanup ....a breeze...I just soak it in water and brush it out. This is not a nonstick but works as good as one especially for cleanups . I don't have to worry about peeling of the nonstick coating anymore.

Totally worth the money in my opinion.

I would have never bought this pan if I had seen the reviews here, but I bought it on an impulse at a cookware outlet and I'm so glad I did! My pan doesn't have any of the problems (hot handle, peeling nonstick) that the other reviewers here have experienced. I suspect that since those earlier reviews the pan has been redesigned by the manufacturer.

Whatever the reason, I absolutely love it! It's the only pan I've ever found that is the perfect size (4") for english muffins and orowheat sandwich thins. Honestly, I'm a rather practical person, so I generally don't buy things with little characters on them, but this pan has ended up being the most-used pan in my kitchen. It's perfect for making scrambled egg sandwiches, so I use it several times a week.

If the handle starts heating up or the nonstick peels off, I'll update this review, but in over six months of weekly use, it's performed like a little champ! And, over time, the cartoon egg on the handle has grown on me, it seems kind of shocked or amazed... perhaps because it has to watch me cook an egg!

BTW-The secret to light, fluffy scrambled eggs is to use a low heat and stir constantly. It takes a little longer, but it is so worth it.

Enjoy!

Claire

I must admit, I'm shocked at all of the one-star negative reviews on this pan. This little thing is great! Firstly, I'm certain that 99% of the perceived issues with this pan are because people aren't using it correctly. For starters, LOWER your heat. This is a really small pan and heats up very quickly. As such you can't expect it will act the same as a much larger pan. The first time I used this I made the same mistake and put the heat where I would for a larger pan.

I had the same problem with the egg sticking. But then I lowered the heat and presto the pan worked great! Now I realize the pan heats very quickly and only minimal heat is necessary. I spray some cooking oil in the pan, let it heat for a minute and then add the egg. It slides off easily every time now. Realize, too, that non-stick coatings will deteriorate quicker under extreme heat.

The only issue I've found is that it is necessary to have a narrower plastic spatula so you can get under the food to turn it.

Once you learn to use the pan, it is really a joy to use. The design seems to have been modified to correct the handle issue and I haven't had that problem at all.

For the money, it's a good buy !

Although somewhat of a novelty item, it does produce perfectly round shaped fried eggs. I have had the best results by spraying it with oil and when I want to flip the egg, I loosen the edges with a spatula, slide it out of the pan and on to the spatula then flip it back into the pan.

Honest reviews on Discount Download Joie de Vivre Mini-Fry NonStick Egg Pan

Not only is this pan unbalanced (the weight of the handle tips it over), it is terribly made. The first time I cracked an egg in it, after a few seconds of cooking I noticed black flecks in the egg it was the non-stick coating on the pan! The coating had chipped off and was floating in the egg. Don't waste your money.

My wife loves for me to make her an "Egg McMuffin" kind of sandwich, except with egg whites only, and on a bagel, and with Virginia ham intead of Canadian bacon. I make one for her almost every morning befoe I go to work. I had been using these egg rings, which you lay down on a hot frying pan. They work sorta ok. But egg always leaks out because either no frying pan in completly flat, or the rings are not. I have not ever figured it out. Then along comes this pan. Seems to be the perfect size for the pefect round egg. And really, it is! The egg cooks up fine, especially if you keep the flame on low, which on most gas burners give you a flame ring the size of the bottom of the pan. This also seems to be just the right amount of btu's for proper cooking. Turning the egg over is a problem, but not a huge one. Best option is to let the egg do 90% of it's cooking on the first side, then use your smallest spatula to turn it over for the last 10 or 15 seconds of cooking. There is one fatal flaw to this pan. It is the handle! For starters, it is of an almost useless shape, too wide and too flat to hold comfortably, were the second problem not evident-the handle gets just about as hot as the pan! Now the makers have seen fit to afix a goofy egg character on the end of the handle, I suppose to insulate your hand from it's cooking temperature surface , but alas, it gets just about as hot as well. Having said all that, I still use the pan every day because it is the only one of it's size I have been able to find. And it does make perfect round eggs for that morning sandwich my wife must have!

Addendum: 7/11/2012 The makers/importers of this pan seem to have read my complaint! ' The pan now comes with a re-designed , insulated handle which is so much better. I can now say the pan is just about perfect!

I am new to stainless, but I love Creuset enameled cast iron and Mauviel copper, so when it came to stainless, I actually ran a head to head test between a Mauviel M'Cook (stainless) and Creuset Stainless skillets. And I like this one best.

I didn't compare to All-Clad which I feel is too expensive for comparable performance, and not nearly comfortable enough. I didn't compare Cuisinart and Calphalon stainless because I feel they cut corners to compete on price, and don't compare on quality (poorly balanced, handles too short, etc). But those are personal preferences, your mileage may vary.

THE SCOOP:

Mauviel is 5 ply and Le Creuset is 3 ply.

Price is in the same range, though Mauviel m'Cook is a little more expensive, 15 to 20% more. But both are less than All-Clad, and more expensive than Cuisinart.

Both are clad on bottom and up the sides.

Mauviel is made in France. Le Creuset stainless is made at their own factory China (which means the work is not subbed out to a contractor in China, but rather that Le Creuset has a manufacturing plant in China where they manage the production).

THE RESULTS:

They both heat up at the same speed and are equally even. I saw no difference.

Le Creuset's pan was much, much easier to handle. Creuset's handle is more ergonomic. Helper handle on the other side makes things easy to manage. And overall, the Creuset was better balanced, I feel.

Quality-wise, Le Creuset wins. The execution and attention to detail is flawless. The Mauviel just feels a little less substantial and less carefully put together.

APPEARANCE:

Attractiveness is a personal thing, but I prefer Le Creuset. If you hang your pots and pans on the wall, though, then you might prefer Mauviel. Here are my thoughts:

Le Creuset looks sturdy, but does so elegantly, like a country kitchen style, while Mauviel is a more streamlined design, more refined shape, but not as attractive to my eye.

The Mauviel exterior is shiny stainless, while the inside is brushed stainless. Mauviel is logo is pressed into the base of the handle. The brushed interior just feels a little less classy and uninspiring sitting on the stove.

Le Creuset has two toned brushed/polished stainless exterior with a polished interior. Le Creuset logo is pressed into the base of the stainless handle and the top of the helper handle. I find the execution of the two tone exceptionally well done (way more attractive than Cuisinart's two tone french classic "high end line" for example) and the details, like the riveted handle are supremely well executed.

Le Creuset does have printing on the bottom side of the skillet, which detracts a little bit from the quality feel. Does not make you want to hang your skillet on the wall.

For hanging pans on a wall, Mauviel's shiny exterior, slimmer profile, and non-print bottom look better to me.

On the stove or table, though, I find Le Creuset is actually more modern and elegant looking, even though it's more sturdy. Its shiny interior and attractive shape are inspiring to me sitting on the stove awaiting my creations, but this is personal preference.

Le Creuset Stainless Fry Pan Summary:

PROS:

Quick, even heating. It's aluminium/stainless 3 ply clad.

It's heavy and thick, which means there's enough aluminum in there to actually distribute the heat across the entire pan. Performance demonstrates this.

Clad on bottom and up the sides.

Handle is excellent. Best out there, in my opinion (better than Calphalon, All Clad, Mauviel, Cuisinart).

Has a helper handle. Superbly handy.

Very attractive (see above report on attractiveness for details).

CONS:

Printing on the bottom (Le Creuset, plus some symbols indicating that the skillet can be used on gas, electric and induction). Doesn't affect performance at all and isn't noticeable unless you're looking at the bottom of your pan. So if you're hanging your pots on your wall, it's not as elegant as an all-smooth shiny stainless like Mauviel.

All in all, I'm quite in love with Creuset Stainless. It performs great, it's comfortable to manage and beautiful to cook in.

We have a larger All-Clad pan and the handle seems to have been designed by a sadist. This Le Creuset handle is very comfortable and the pan's polished surface cleans up nicely. The thick three ply aluminum core distributes heat evenly when placed over our gas burners. We haven't used the wide pouring lip but I can see where this would be convenient. The 9 1/2" size and weight are perfect for many uses.

What can one say about Le Creuset that has not already been said or written about. The pan is first class and cooks all foods very evenly. I only wish that I would have known about this earlier. This is well worth the investiment if you are a serious foody. Le Creuset pulls it off again and all I can say is Outstanding.

Honest reviews on Best Download Le Creuset 3-Ply Stainless Steel Fry Pan Deals

Overall the pan is a great value. I use it mostly for frying foods. The only drawback is that the finish on the frying surface grew dull after the first use and no matter what I do it stays dull and marbled looking.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program

Edit: I should mention that this is a 14 piece set, and incorrectly said 15 in my review.

I decided to do a video review for the Faberware cookware set. The reason being is I did notice the quality difference between another brand known as Cook N Home 15 Piece Non stick Black Soft handle Cookware Set that I purchased last year when I was on a stricter budget after moving into a new apartment. I also reviewed the Farberware Dishwasher Safe Aluminum Nonstick 12-Piece Cookware Set, Black which had similar teflon but less pans.

While I'm not fond of the color (which is a minor nitpick) I do have to say the quality difference was impressive.

Keep in mind that the Faberware retails on Amazon $20 dollars more than when I paid for the other brand. I just have to say, it does make a difference. I really like the set up of the base of the handle, which is much sturdier than the other brand. The Teflon is DuPont and I could immediately see the difference between my other set of cookware.

Now not all the lids will fit every pot for Faberware, but this is mostly the frying pans, so don't fret. The skillet has a lid that fits. The only minor thing I liked from my Cook N Home is that there was a steam vent/hole when cooking. Good for when you're cooking meals with a lot of steam that prevents the bubbling. Faberware doesn't have this, so that can be a good or bad thing depending on your viewpoint.

The other nitpick are the plastic utensils that came with the set. I could honestly do without. This cookware is really a starter set and if you have a large family, you'll need more pots and pans. For the average couple or single person this is a fine set to start out with.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program The color is a beautiful and attention grabbing bright red. The cookware is a heavy gauge Teflon nonstick aluminum. Every piece is dishwasher safe. The heavy gauge aluminum helps prevent burning and reduces hotspots for an even heated bottom of the pot or pan. I like this set because it last longer than most any Teflon coated cookware. It is easy to clean and it's not the cheap no name brands that you can find for half the price. Amazon offers this at a good price and is competitive with other retailers.

Please follow directions if you haven't use Teflon coated cookware because it will be ruined if you use a metallic utensil with it. The set comes with four nice non metallic utensils....Slotted Spoon, Solid Spoon, Slotted Turner, Whisk. Also includes two saucepans, 1 & 3 quart with lids, five quart Dutch Oven, 9"&11" skillets and 2.75-Quart Covered Saute pan. Amazon also offers this set in black, but I prefer the red because it matches my KitchenAid mixer as well as my toaster.

The lids are glass and oven proof up 350F. The handles are coated, which keeps them cool to the touch. Also the handles are not only welded but also riveted to prevent dangerous spillage of hot foods. Also this is a sign of Faberware quality. Faberware has been in the cookware business since 1904, over a hundred years and if you live in the states I bet you parents owned Faberware cookware.

This set would be a great starter set or for a small kitchen because they take little storage space. We have a large stainless steel commercial gas range and usually keep one or two pots displayed on it for cosmetic reasons. If you have a large kitchen and like to prepare hot food, this set is a must have for the price. Even if you want to mix and match your cookware like we do, the red color goes well with SS. My wife is a caterer and is really rough on cookware, and after 6 months this set has held up nicely without anything breaking. I recommend this FABERWARE cook set for anyone that enjoys the culinary arts to even frying an egg. It will last a long time IF you take proper care of the Teflon coating.

Thanks for reading my review. M. Hyatt ~THE HATCHERY.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Very nice set for the money.

This combination of pots, skillets and lids fit most of the needs for cooking. I really like the color and the weight of the pieces. They are solid without having the heft of cast iron.

The Teflon coating works fine and the pans and skillets all sit flat on the stove. The skillets heat evenly and the different sizes and types of edges make this combination quite useful for a variety of dishes.

The utensils that are included are fine, but they are a little flimsy. They do work OK and that is probably not the reason you would consider purchasing this set of cookware.

I judge things partly on whether I would buy the same items again if they should suddenly disappear. For this set, the answer is "Yes I would."

Honest reviews on Review of Download Farberware Dishwasher Safe Nonstick 14-Piece

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program First, I must say that I only got these because I got them to review. Typically we do not buy non-stick pans because I am concerned about toxicity. You can only use plastic utensils with these pans. And the ones that come with it are a little bit flimsy. That said, I assume if you are buying these you will buy them aware of the risks of non-stick pans, so I'll review them as such. I've used them about 10 times to cook, very carefully at heat that is not too high, with plastic utensils and they worked well.

Note that the set includes a 1 and 3 qt. saucepan, a 5 qt. dutch oven, and a 9 and 11 inch skillet and a 2.5 quart saute pan. The skillets do not have lids, but the others do.

Nothing stuck to the pans, which was great.

I would suggest that these would be a good set for someone who is not a regular cook maybe a young college student or someone just getting started out. They heat up quickly because they are thin and they heat a little unevenly. Not a big deal for minor cooking, but if you are more serious or cook a lot, it is not ideal.

They can go in the dishwasher and the times I used them it did not seem to cause any harm to them. I am skeptical about that over time, but I'll have to wait a year or so before I can report on that.

Overall, this is not a cheap set of pans. I would put them better than a start set you might get at Wal-mart and a good value for the price. But not a good option if you want pans you'll be cooking with a lot over many years.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Review of Download Farberware Dishwasher Safe Nonstick 14-Piece

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Four pots with lids, two pans plus utensils makes this set a good choice for those setting up a kitchen on a budget. When my wife and I were married 25 years ago, we purchased a Farberware stainless steel set (not inexpensive at the time) which we still have today. We found at the time that although the pots were very well-made, the frying pans (without teflon) required much more oil or fat to be useful. So we ended up buying teflon frying pans of various sizes over the years. Conversely, the deep pots in this set are also teflon coated, which we feel is perhaps not necessary, and since the teflon coatings tend to wear out much sooner than the pots themselves, will ultimately limit the useful lifespan of this set. However, the manufacturer has also included a few utensils, which will hopefully remind users that using plastic or wood will greatly increase the longevity of the set. The weight is reasonable, not too light, and the ability to place in the medium oven, as well as wash in the dishwasher, is a plus. For the price, very reasonable.

The problem with many reviews is that they are written in the honeymoon period after the purchase. I bought many pots and pans by this manufacturer. I bought this 10 inch frying pan almost a year ago and I have used it almost every day. It still works, but here's the problem this type of surface is funny, at first it's like all teflon pans, totally slippery and it is very, very scratch resistant, but after a while no matter how well you clean it, it will develop a hard layer of oil/carbon and will become not much different than a poor to middle of the road seasoned cast iron pan. If you don't believe me, buy it and run it through about 100 cycles and you'll see what I mean. As far as the many other Swiss Diamond pots, casseroles, etc. I have purcased; I give them my highest mark, but keep in mind that any of these that gets used a lot and has oil on it will develop this layer of carbon which is impossible to remove. To their credit, the manufacturer actually warns you of this with the instuctions, and that you must not let the oil get burned on. My experience after 200 thermal cycles is that keeping that from happening is impossible. Maybe I wasn't religious enough in my cleaning at first, but once the process starts it will slowly cover the whole bottom of the pan no matter what you do. I use as much oil and butter in this pan now as I would on stainless or cast iron. Good luck

I LOVED this pan when I first got it, and for a while. I've had it for over a year now. It cooked evenly and was wonderfully non-stick. In fact, it cooked as nicely as a well-seasoned cast iron. I tried to care for it as directed, but even so, the pan has lost most of it's non-stick qualities and is difficult to clean well.

To make a long story short, I prefer my old cast iron, and while they require some care, they hold their quality. This pan has become unmanageable as far as its non-stick coating is concerned. There doesn't seem to be any way to "restore" it as you would a cast iron pan.

I REALLY WANTED TO LOVE THIS PAN, but after one year, I am very disappointed. Started out well, but quickly went the way of cheap non-stick pans.

Best Deals for Review of Download Swiss Diamond Fry Pans

(Be sure to see update at the end, but first, my original--regrettable--glowing review)

I have an entire set of Swiss Diamond in addition to this pan. I bought Swiss Diamond because, due to weak wrists, I needed sturdy cookware that was not as heavy as stainless steel. Because aluminum is the primary, affordable, lighter-weight alternative, and one does not want food coming in contact with aluminum because of the possible leaching of it into the food, I sought non-stick pans with a coating that would not flake or scratch off and end up in my food. After much research, I discovered Swiss Diamond. I have not been disappointed. The pans are a great weight--hefty without being too heavy, and after several months of use, the coating is holding up beautifully. I confess that I do not primarily use metal utensils in it, however, so I can't testify about how they hold up against metal.

These pans caramelize food beautifully, and the evenness of the heat distribution in them is a pure joy. They do take a few extra seconds to heat up, but hold heat very well. I really love how flat the pan's bottom is, and imagine if you have a flush electric cooktop, these would be especially appreciated. Though I have a gas range, I had trouble in the past with pots and pans slipping and sliding on the enameled grates, but these pans do not slide. And I was delighted to discover, after realizing I had accidentally left this pan on low heat for an hour with no food in it, it did not warp at all and is still in perfect condition. This cookware cleans up easily and perfectly, too. I love that they are coated on the outside walls of the pans so any dried or cooked on food comes off the outside as easily as the inside.

One thing to note is that if you are looking for a pan to cook eggs in without oil, this may not be your best choice. The texture of the diamond coating seems to grab more than a slick Teflon pan would, and the first time I tried to flip my fried eggs without a spatula, I had less than stellar results. But with sufficient oil, I can flip the eggs without a spatula or a problem (I need to make my daily quota of coconut oil anyway for health reasons, so I'm fine with putting oil in the pan). If you use a spatula, you should easily be able to flip eggs without oil.

I do hope these pans turn out to be durable over the years. So far, after a few months, they are aces! In fact, my husband may be growing weary of my exclaiming, "I LOVE this cookware!" over and over again.

UPDATE 3/18/2013 Sadly, pans are in the landfill now. We didn't even want to donate them, we thought they were so unhealthy! After only a year, they started flaking and wearing on the edges. I advise against these pans, not just because they weren't durable, but I have come to believe they are made with PTFEs--the toxic stuff in Teflon. I now have ceramic coated pans (German Weilburger Healthy Legend) and so far, so good, but I'll wait awhile before reviewing!

I recently bought a Swiss Diamond Saute Pan on the basis of a limited lifetime warranty and this claim in the product description:

"Swiss Diamond cookware features a revolutionary new non-stick incorporating diamond crystals ... to form a virtually indestructible non-stick cooking surface that will not crack, blister or peel. So durable its metal utensil safe."

After my experience using this pan I take issue with the terms "virtually indestructible" and "metal utensil safe" and feel that I have been deceived.

I've followed Swiss Diamond use and care instructions *to the letter* but not long after I started using the pan the surface became pockmarked. I would submit that the product is certainly neither "virtually indestructible" nor "metal utensil safe."

Interestingly their lifetime warranty does not cover "scratch marks," which is puzzling because they've just claimed it's "virtually indestructible" and "metal utensil safe." How is a "virtually indestructible" and "metal utensil safe" surface going to get scratch marks on it? Maybe they know something we don't?

I purchased this pan while returning another one to the Swiss Diamond warranty department. It was no longer "non-stick" and there was white discoloration all over it. When I called the warranty department, they seemed very receptive and told me to send it in. I followed their directions and sent it off for inspection.

Because the Swiss Diamond seemed so responsive, I thought that I would have no problem having it replaced. I went ahead and purchased a new one because I needed a pan right away and did not want to wait for the time it would take to replace. I thought I would give the replaced pan to my daughter.

About a week after I sent the pan off for inspection to the Swiss Diamond warranty, it was returned unopened. UPS had a stamp on it stating: "refused delivery, receiver did not want". I was confused and looked at the package and reviewed the sending instructions that were emailed directly to me from Swiss Diamond. I had followed the mailing directions exactly as specified so I called. I then called and left a message to my contact person. When I did not hear from her the next day, I emailed her. The next day the email was returned undeliverable.

When I finally got a hold of someone at the number I had, I was told that they were no longer honoring Swiss Diamond warranties and I would have to contact the Swiss Diamond Company in Switzerland. I went to their website and emailed them because there is no international 800 number and I did not want to invest any more money in this fiasco. It has been 2 months now and I have emailed them 2 times and still no response.

I have given up as this is more trouble that it is worth. The reason I purchased this product in the first place is because I thought it had a warranty, at least one that the company would honor. I don't mind paying extra for a product that a manufacturer stands behind. I rarely return things but when I have for valid reasons I have never had a problem with having the item replaced.

This product is not worth the cost they charge. I could probably go to Target or WalMart and purchase something just as good for a quarter of the price and still get better customer service.

This is just another Teflon pan. They cannot legally use the word "Teflon" because that is a registered trademark name from Dupont ( I think). It is still the same stuff.

This is my first Epicurean kitchen tool and I'm sold for life. After months of use. it doesn't melt when it contacts a hot pan, the flat end doesn't shred into tiny pieces when used to scrape (a common problem with cheap spatulas), and it's nice to look at to boot. I love that it's made in the USA. Thank you Epicurean for a fine product!

I have already bought another to have on hand at Grandma's house. Perfect for "skillet size" pancakes. I recommend it.

Honest reviews on Buy Download Epicurean Gourmet Utensils Nylon Turner

I have this turner in both medium and large. The large size works great for turning and serving things like fish or enchiladas that can be challenging for ordinary turners. The medium one has become my favorite turner for most things. The curve of it is perfect for most applications, it's safe to use with any pan, it's very lightweight and cleans up beautifully on the top shelf of the dishwasher. The gap allows excess grease to drain off too. I've been using mine for quite awhile and they still look like new.

I love the design and appearance of these utensils. I went back and bought the whole set!

The nylon portion is well-engineered and very durable. It has just the right degree of flex. The wooden handle is beautifully finished and makes a nice appearance on the counter. Very easy to hold and use.

I do NOT recommend these pans. They were very pretty to look at (nice art work on the bottom) but not good for cooking. I bought them because I thought "Cast Iron" pans were all the same and the art work and price was a definite lure. Boy was I sorry! During their 1st use chips of iron kept flaking off into the food I was cooking. I'm sending them back immediately. Their appearance and price were good but the quality was not good. Their American competition, Lodge Logic, (and maybe who they are imitating) is MUCH higher in quality for not much more in price.

I am very pleased with these pans. They are heavy and durable made just like my grandmothers that she used to cook with when we went to visit. I also was impressed with the preseasoning. It made them very easy to use for the first time. This product is made to last a lifetime and so few things are made that well anymore. In fact, I just ordered the 5 quart deep frying pan with the lid and I am ordering the 4 quart dutch oven since these were so impressive.

Bought these for christmas for my daughter. I was very very disappointed when I noticed the box sez 'made in china'. Because it was too late to return I gave them to her anyway. I told her that I had found a recall on cast iron skillets that are made in china because due to the coating they use. It's a paint that comes off in the food. she elected to keep the skillets said she wasn't going to cook in them anyway. She's painting pictures in them for a craft show. Use caution when buying anything made in china if you're going to use it to cook or eat with.

I was looking for a heavy pot to cook my marinara sauce in one that wouldn't scorch so easily on the bottom. I make a huge pot of marinara sauce twice a month and I was tired of scorching the bottom and trying to salvage unburnt sauce into another pot, which really never works because the scorched taste is still there. Maybe I am not attentive enough, but this happens regularly with all my other pots, Calphalon, Cuisinart, Farberware, etc. I can't use my Lodge cast iron because it is not big enough for the amount of sauce I want to make. Since All-Clad is so expensive, I decided to try Cuisinox. OMG! I love it! It is heavy, heavy, heavy really substantial and my sauce doesn't burn. Mind you, you cannot walk away for 20 minutes while the sauce boils, but with a reasonable amount of attention, this pot gets the job done. I then purchased a Cuisinox Elite 7.8 Quart Covered Dutch Oven, and this weekend, I cooked beef burgundy in it to perfection! Cuisinox is a Canadian company and they explained that their Elite line is thick 3-ply stainless steel on the bottom AND the sides of each pot, whereas their Gourmet line is only 3-ply on the bottom. So, stick with the Elite line and you will a heavy stainless still pot that rivals any other top of the line cookware.

I stumbled over Scanpan CTX cookware as I was searching for a replacement for my venerable cast iron skillets (seem to be getting heavier!). My test piece was a skillet, and it worked so well I bought several more pieces, including the Chef's pan. This piece sits permanently on my induction stove top, and is used for just about every meal. It heats quickly and evenly, it sears my chops and it simmers my sauces. In three months use I have not found anything to stick; I often clean it by pouring in some cold water with a drop of soap, turn on the induction to for a few seconds to warm it and run a dishcloth around, rinse and dry. My All Clad pans never get used any more. Quite pricey, though, I'm hoping that in a few years time I will look back on them as an investment.

OK, after three months, I have to say that the frypans now stick! Even with a starter of butter my two omelettes stuck to the pan.

It heats a little slowly but once it gets up to temp it COOKS. You must watch the temp so you do not burn anything once it does heat up. IT's not good at browning anything but it's GREAT at your normal cooking. Nothing will stick -EVER!

I have been reading and reading on a good non stick. The CTX from scanpan seemed to me to be the best. After using it I was happy with how easy food slid off and wiped clean with a towel. If you have the money for it, do it. If not save your money and buy a cheap non stick and replace yearly.

Honest reviews on Review of Download Scanpan CTX 5.5 qt. Covered Chef Pan

This cookware is exemplary. Only moderate heat is required to use these pans as they conduct heat more efficiently than any other pan I've used. Heating on medium-high will bring water to a boil more quickly than other pans used on high heat!

The non-stick surface truly is non-stick! It cleans up with a quick wash with a soapy sponge. And the stainless steel exterior stays pristine with a quick wipe and occasional light scrub with Bar Keeper's Friend stainless steel cleaner.

I have to be honest, this is my first product review on Amazon in years. Usually, if the product is good, I stay mum, but with this skillet I just have to protest. I have been on the prowl for non-teflon PFOA PF cookware for some time now, constantly researching and trying new products. I love to cook and have cooked on regular non-stick pans, zepter, stainless steel, etc, without ever ruining any of them. Basically, I would consider my self an exprienced residential user but enough about me.

After anxiously waiting for weeks to get the Xtrema skillet (back-order), I carefully followed instructions for wash and use. In many ways it's similar to cast iron (wait for it to get hot, then turn the fire down and off you go). I have to admit, the first few times that I cooked on it, I was in awe. I thought that I finally found the 'magic bullet' against standard non-stick carcinogenous cookware. Boy was I wrong. After a few uses, the skillet began to have a film, a black lining of sorts, a 'dried on'-looking somthing, in patches, primarily around the middle of the skillet.

At first, I was able to scrub/soak it off. After a couple more uses I was forced to use a metalic scrubber, which seemed to work. After a couple more uses, the black spots grew in diameter, but did not come off the pan. Needless the say, all non-stick qualities of this skillet were gone in under ten uses.

Also, please don't believe a word about the pan being inderstructible. May be it can survive a fall from a three-story building, but it can't survive a metal spatula or the scrubber.

To continue with this saga, I contacted Chef's Source to return the item, and they have directed me to the manufacturer. I will have to continue this review once the mafucaturer actions pan out. Contacting the manufacturer in order to salvage the $99+shipping I paid to get this item. Of course, no doubt, I will have to spend $20 to send the skillet to them, as it's exceptionally heavy.

Wish me luck.

Overall, this is definately a product I would not recommend.

While searching for a healthier alternative to metal cookware, and especially (toxic) teflon, I found Xtrema Ceramic Cookware. I didn't purchase it through an Amazon seller, so I can't rate the seller. I bought mine at ceramcor(dot)com with free shipping. But since I saw this cookware here at Amazon, I thought I would give it a review.

So far I purchased the 5.5 quart covered saucepan, the 12 in. covered skillet and the 10 in. skillet. The 10 in. skillet doesn't come with a cover, but the 5.5 qt saucepan cover fits it perfectly. This cookware only took me a couple of meals to get the hang of. My husband and I absolutely love it! When stovetop cooking, we learned fast that it heats up real quick and only needs the medium heat setting or lower... especially if you cook without the cover. When your food is done cooking you want to remove the cookware from the burner because your food will continue to cook as the heat is retained for a long time, which is perfect for setting it on the dinner table if you want to keep your food hot. My first experience was not good. Being used to cooking with high heat (for only a few minutes) before lowering the temp, I over-cooked my meal and it stuck pretty badly to the pan. I soaked it overnight with warm water and dish liquid and it cleaned up just like a teflon pan, no kidding! Needless to say, they clean up like a breeze when you're "not" burning anything, lol! It has a non-scratch, non-toxic ceramic glaze surface. You can use brillo pads on these and they won't scratch, but so far I've only needed a regular kitchen scrub sponge. This cookware can be used in the oven, stovetop, broiler, freezer, grill, microwave and dishwasher... very versatile! What I love best about this cookware is using the cover when cooking on the stovetop. Because the cover is the same material as the pan, your food cooks like a covered casserole in the oven.

This is a long review (sorry!), but just a quick mention... tonight (on the stovetop) we cooked chicken breasts with peppers, onions and garlic with the cover onat the last few minutes of cooking time I tossed in 3 large, sliced, sweet potatoes (with cover back on) and they cooked super fast, were tender and absorbed all the flavors... no need to cook your potatoes separately! Next time, along with the potatoes, I'll toss in some greens, too, saving me the hassle of cooking with so many pots and pans.

This cookware is expensive, but other than being durable and long-lasting, if you read all the health benefits at the website I mentioned above, you'll agree that it's a healthy investment. I'll never go back to aluminum (which is known to cause alzheimer disease) or toxic teflon... which, btw, if you have pet birds please do not cook with teflon. The fumes are so toxic and are known (and statistics are well documented) to kill birds within a matter of minutes. Their little livers shut down after working overtime trying to detoxify the fumes, this causes fluid to fill their lungs... in turn suffocating them to death :o( Sorry, I didn't mean to end this review on such a sad note, but I think it's very important for everyone to know this.

Update as of 8/16/12:

Unfortunately, a few months ago my large 12 inch skillet broke (at the handle) as I was washing it. I don't believe this would've happened had my sink been stainless steel. Just a warning for those with hard sinks to be especially careful of the handle, that it doesn't lose your grip as you're washing it, or that you let it rest on the side of the sink. I've added a picture of my broken skillet to show the break in the handle.

Best Deals for Best Download 10" Skillet - Ceramcor Xtrema Deals

My husband saw this advertised in Reader's Digest and convinced me to give it a try. It sounded pretty good, but I did note a review saying the handle on the skillet broke. Therefore, we were very careful not to lift the skillet without holding the handle and tab on the opposite side. I didn't like having to heat the skillet slowly, and I only used it a couple of times. My husband decided to use it and, despite not having more than 16 oz. in the skillet, when he lifted it, the handle broke off. Over the short time I used the skillet, it cost us at least $25 per use. Definitely a terrible purchase!

Honest reviews on Best Download 10" Skillet - Ceramcor Xtrema Deals

I like the fact that my new Xtrema skillet is a safe, healthy choice. I dislike the fact that it heats and cooks so unevenly. A pancake, for example, will have nearly burned and somewhat raw parts, even after pre-heating the skillet. Disappointing!

I didn't buy this off Amazon but want to review it. I sent the pan back after only a few uses. It was a 12" pan and was big and very heavy. Even after letting it heat up on the burner for a long time, it still heated unevenly. It had cold spots and things stuck. I used oil but they still stuck. I would not recommend this pan.
