These look nice, and fit the pan handles well, but if you leave them on the pan for any length of time (and not a crazy hot pan either... 350-375 in the center of the pan is enough) they will get charred on the pan end. There is a Lodge Max Temp Handle Mitt, Black that might work better but I don't have any experience with it as I ordered these instead. They could definitely be made out of some material that held up better to high temps. I would expect that kind of problem at 500+ degrees, but I don't consider 350 degrees (probably less than 300 where the handle meets the pan) to be particularly hot for cast iron cookware.

I too have had the problem of the mitt burning at the end. After reading the review of the mitt charring, I figured that the user either 1) used too high heat, or 2) placed their pan off-center, resulting in the mitt being over the flame.

I was very conscious of these two variables as I used the mitts. After about 2 weeks of cooking, I noticed that my mitt was charred as well. While cooking I either half-removed the mitt while the pan was on the stove top, &/or made sure the heat never went beyond medium (gas). It appears that the mitt itself is of decent quality, but the cloth used on the edges are not anything special.

All in all, I expected better quality from a product with the "Lodge" name. In their defense however, these mitts were priced pretty cheap. I picked up 2 sets & expect them to last me a couple years with more cautious use (ie: leaving them half-off while cooking, proper pan placement, & medium heat). However, when they are no longer usable, I do not think that I would bother picking up replacements.

These pot handle holders are easy to use. I have Circulon Cookware that I really love but the handles are stainless steel so they get very hot. I just slide one over the handle and am able to lift the pans easily out of the oven or off the stove.

Bought 2 of these. they're great at blocking the handle heat but if you push them on the handle all the way, they singe or burn, even if the flame isn't wider than your pan. it's unfortunate...

I wanted to wait a while before posting a review, as somethings the flaws in these things are not readily apparent on the first few uses. First, the cookware nests perfectly and has helped to get back some much needed space in with all my pots and pans. For me, these pans have essentially become my go to pans for cooking. I only occasionally use the other non-stick pans that I have.

The two skillets are solid and have good bottoms to them. I like the additional little handle on the opposite side of the skillet which makes having to maneuver it around the kitchen very easy. The pots are also easy to use and to nest. There were some complaints in the previous posts about the handles and overflow of boiling through the handles. I understand what people mean, but its mainly a concern when the lid is aligned so the gap there for the nesting is aligned on the handles as well. However, I actually like the design, because when there is overflow, it travels through the handle and out the hole at the end of the handle which is away from the burner and prevents the flare-ups that you get when you are boiling something. I see that as a not bad feature. This is either a design flaw or feature depending on your personal view of it.

Overall the pots are all solid, well made and work well. They also are a great set of basic pots for anyone needing to stock a kitchen, and they are great space savers!

This pan set works with a portable induction top hot plate, which we use for camping and in our home. My wife would rather use these than go to her new electric stove. This pan set takes up 70% less space in the storage, which is important for traveling and use in a motorhome.

I love that everything stacks and only takes up the space of one pan, especially since my only place to store them is in the oven. They are stainless steal, so they require a little extra care than non-stick if you aren't used to them. The only drawback is that the skillets don't have lids, but if they did the other pans wouldn't nest, so I understand why they left them out.

This cookware LOOKS well-designed; good features like OK to use on induction burners, SORT OF stackable, uses recycled metal: Those few good features don't redeem it... it goes badly wrong from those.

We've been using these for several months; they are badly designed & can be hazardous:

===Lids APPEAR nice, but try to clean them! Inside edges have about 1/2" recess between edge where glass is held & the actual rim of the lid. That has fairly sharp edges to the metal rims: shreds cleaning cloths & sponges used to wash them, & can cut one's hands. Because that recess inside lid rim is so deeply inset, & just narrow enough, it's tough to clean hand.

A really good dishwasher might help; but be VERY careful when hand-washing these lids, to prevent getting cut!

===Lids seal poorly: steam escapes; cooks must watch that foods being cooked do not get too dried out, & prevent themselves being steam-burned.

===Plastic lid handles also go inside lids, in order to allow some lids to stack, therefore, heat from cooking can put VOC's into foods, which MIGHT be a toxicity problem. ALSO, since handle-plastic is inside exposed to heat, heat can excessively transfer to outside handle, making picking up the lid by a hot handle a safety issue.

===EZ-Store pots & pans have micro-grooves in metal interiors due to cheap manufacture. ALL pans with micro-grooves cause foods to stick & burn, makes cleaning some things a nightmare! Micro-grooves collect microscopic residues, which can form potential vectors for infection.

ONLY pans machined very smooth inside, will have non-stick capability;

IF Non-toxic, Non-stick is what you seek, look for OTHER cookware with surface like those inside classic Revere-ware pans:

To make non-stick metal surfaces, those MUST be very smoothly cast or machine polished: EZ-Store pans are NOT.

===And no, they don't ALL stack together.

The pans stack, but the lids don't all stack, & pots don't stack with the pans very well.

You'll need to make 2 or more stacks, at least one large lid must be by itself--a 3rd stack?

===Stainless steel pans must have something magnet-attractive inside their bases to work with induction burners; at least EZ Store pans have that.

Bottom line: The company needs to correct the design flaws--at least correct the safety issues!!

I purchased this for our RV and I can totally see using this in our home too. The stacking feature is a great way to save space and the quality of the cookware is excellent! The only minor concern I have is that when I stacked them without anything in between them as a buffer, the metal on metal caused a dark mark on the pans. I now have a paper napkin in between each pot to prevent it from rubbing on each other. This may not be an issue if you plan on using it at home, since there won't be much jostling around from bumps in the road while traveling in an RV.

The reason I got this is because I have two saute pans that did not come with lids. Sometimes, I want to turn off the stove but cover the saute pan so that heat is trapped in. The manufacturer of this lid makes several claims suggesting the lid would work well for my purposes. They characterize it as a "universal lid." They say that the lid specifically fits "saute pans" that have a diameter of 7" to 12". They also claim the "inner ridges provide a customized fit." These claims are misleading. After trying out the lid, I now realize that most saute pans, including mine, have a handle that extends upward -higher than the plane of the rim. So when you attempt to rest a wide lid like this on the rim of the pan, the handle is in the way. It will never lie flat. So for my 8" saute pan, this lid is pretty much worthless. My 10" saute pan is big enough so that the lid ALMOST rests flat on the rim. So if you have a saute pan that is more than 10", it might work for you.

By the way, the lid is very flat. The "ridges" really don't seem to change anything in that regard. It's also thin and light. The manufacturer claims the lid is 18/10 stainless steel. That may be, but it is a thin 18/10 stainless steel. I have mostly KitchenAid and All-Clad cookware made of 18/8 or 18/10 stainless steel. I don't consider the stainless steel in this lid to be like my cookware. The quality here is more comparable to the inexpensive pots and pans that you find in department stores. Aside from that, the lid seems to be structurally sound.

October 2011 UPDATE: I've been using this lid occasionally for a couple of years now. I have to say it's held up well. I've gotten kind of used to it as an emergency lid for pots or pans with at least a 10" diameter. I now think it was worth the $20 I spent. Still not happy with the manufactuerer's representations, but I see they've toned down their claims to be a little more accurate. Anyway, I'm upgrading this from 3 stars to 4.

I got this lid because my favorite frying pan did not come with a lid. I found several lids but they either only fit 1 size or were all stainless. I wanted a glass lid and this one was a nice compromise; the steam vent is a plus too. The construction seems pretty sturdy but I'll have to see how it holds up over the years.

The maximum usable diameter of the lid is 12 3/8" and there are steps located at 11 1/2", 10 3/4", and 10" (see my product photo). If your pot or pan happens to be one of those diameters, you should get a nice fit; otherwise, expect some wiggle room. As another reviewer mentioned, lids like these can conflict with the handle on your pan, so before you buy it, make a few measurements to ensure everything will work out.

After time after time of cooking eggs and having my cheap IKEA spatula melt on me, I decided to go on amazon and get a replacement. I just wanted something high heat, so I searched for that and found what looked the most affordable (though IKEA is like 99cents).

The product came and I've been using it to make eggs and anything else ever since. It's sturdy and durable, the handle is firm and the spatula feels substantial. The grill does what it describes perfectly. For indoor grilling very good ventilation is a must. Warms up very quick and is very easy to clean after use. I have a griddler that I use inside but sometimes the whole house smells of whatever is cooking. The indoor/outddoor griddler is ideal. While there's only one side versus the original girddler the cover makes all the difference. So easy to use and to clean. I know we can use it inside without the stand but we're using it on the patio and it's great. Sturdy, too.

I chose this grill after a hot charcoal grill top on our deck floor and burned it so bad there was a circle burnt through that floor.

We also have a huge gas grill that is used only at reunions as it is just the two of us now.

This pan is a big improvement over the original Circulon pot I have with the deep circular grooves. This pan has shallow bumps on the pan bottom that are extremely easy to clean. This particular chefs pan is a great size for meals for 4. I love the high straight sides. The pan is heavy for me so I cannot easily lift it or toss ingredients using one hand. The heaviness is the biggest negative for me over the wok I had that this replaces. The reason for the weight is a layer of stainless steel on the bottom of the pan, which is very flat. The lid is also stainless steel and tight fitting. I cook over a budget electric range and the pan is reasonably even heating. I have not noticed the handle getting hot at all, but I have not used very high heat on this pan because it so far does not seem to need it. The non-stick performance has been great, and the pan cleans up very easily. I always hand wash and have not tried in the dishwasher. The pan with the handle seems a little big to fit efficiently in a dishwasher. I like this pan so much that I am going to buy more of the Circulon Infinite cookware.

UPDATE: I have had this pan over a year now and it continues to perform well. I only use wood or nylon utensils with the pan, never metal. The "non-stick" has held up very well, but I always wipe a small amount of oil onto the pan with a paper towel. Just enough to coat the bottom there should be no visible oil. Just a sheen. I have moved to a gas burner, and the pan still cooks very evenly. The bottom is still dead flat. This pan gets used at least 3 times a week for everything from braising, frying, sauteing, and stir frying. I still highly recommend this pan.

I have a 10 piece set of Infinite Circulon, but this extra pan is the most useful of all. You can brown meat right in the pan, add liquids and veggies (it is 6 quart size), and put it all right into the oven. It heats evenly with a Stainless Steel bottom, and never sticks on top of the stove or in the oven (safe up to 500 degrees). After more than five months of cooking with thisCirculon Infinite Circulon 6-Quart Covered Chef Pan with Helper Handle wonderful piece of cookware, I must agree wholeheartedly with others here. It is terrific!

First, I was thrilled to be able to use it on the induction cooktop I had purchased earlier. Still amazed at how very fast this combination of tools will produce tasty, quality results.

As others have attested, cut way down on any oils or fats you use. Am still cutting down. I like extra virgin olive oil for flavor in my cooking. I probably only need 1/2 teaspoon or less now. You cannot believe how you don't need any oils at all for browning in this pan.

Yes, it's an "everything pan". Perfect size for family stovetop casseroles, super for hearty soups and stews, and more. I haven't used it in the oven yet, but would feel confident about its performance there.

This pan heats more evenly than any I have owned. It is a fine, handsome, solid piece of construction. It does have weight, but it feels good and has a thoughtfully sculptured elongated handle, plus a helper handle to make lifting the pan nearly effortless for most members of the family.

Those handles do stay cool on top of the stove. The lid is a nice weight, as well. It provides a tight fit and is made of quality stainless steel, like the handles. Haven't had to use a potholder on the lid yet, either.

Best money I have spent on any piece of cookware. Cleanup involves a swish or two with hot, soapy water and rinse. Though you can put this in the dishwasher, why waste all that hot water and energy?

I'm trying to replace my 12 inch covered saute pan. Every one I get warps and doesn't sit flat on my glass-top stove. My current pan has developed a crack in the Teflon and is starting to stick, so it's got to go. The reviews of this pan lead me to give it a try, and I'm glad I did.

The stats are just plain off on this listing. "6 x 16 x 5 inches; 11 pounds; 9 lb shipping weight" ?! Apparently its some sort of chimney tube that gets lighter when you ship it!

The reality is: the pan is about 11 inches (28cm) in diameter, plus a little bit for the flare at the top. The box label calls it a 6qt/5.5L/28cm pan. It's just over 4 inches deep. The long handle adds 9 inches of length, and the helper handle another 2-1/2 or so. The steel/aluminum disk on the bottom is dead flat, 1/4 inch thick and 9 inches in diameter. There is no way a stove is going to warp it. It is heavy at over 4-1/2 lbs for the pan plus about 1-1/2 lbs for the lid. The box says it was made in Thailand.

Circulon includes a "Lifetime Customer Satisfaction Guarantee" and suggests you visit their website or call their customer relations number 800-326-3933 if you have any problems. The use and care instructions warn against leaving an empty pan over too high heat, which can burn the nonstick coating and release toxic fumes (a known issue common to all non-stick cookware; never cook over 500F with non-stick surfaces!) It doesn't otherwise say not to use oils in the pan, just not to overheat them. Keep in mind that most cooking oils will smoke above 375-400F, so you have an easy way to tell when its getting too hot.

I'll have to use it before I can speak to the longevity. There are plenty of good reviews for that here anyway. I expect to be pleased enough to look for the 10-piece set and replace all of my old, mismatched cookware in the near future.

May 2011 update 8 months and I still love the pan. I did get the 10-piece set as a Christmas gift. Have not managed to damage the non-stick on any of them. They can be washed in the dish washer without harm. Always come out clean as new. Great pan, and a great set.

I got this pan when I got my Circulon Infinite Induction Cooker. The conductivity of the aluminum with the induction capability of the stainless disk make a great cook pan! I deep fry, stir fry, saute before braising, braise, boil for pasta, etc., etc., etc! Clean up is a snap! It quickly became my favorite cook pan because I don't have the "hot spot" problem with it that I have with some other pans using and induction burner. I use primarily All-Clad, but I now intend to buy other Circulon Infinite cookware. And guess what, I used to hate Circulon cookware!

(2008 HOLIDAY TEAM)The Emerilware Cast Iron 10 Inch Skillet is a very good cast iron skillet for the home cook on a budget. A well-seasoned cast-iron skillet is an essential for anybody that wants to cook beyond the basic level. There are several reservations, which are more based on knowing your needs than any limits with the product. The first thing to keep in mind is that, though most cast iron skillets, including this one, come pre-seasoned, they still need to be seasoned further before you can get the benefits of a nice non-stick surface for cooking. This factory seasoning is definitely a great start, but the main benefits will be that it will prevent rusting and keep your food from getting the metallic taste that is common with completely un-seasoned cast-iron. Some people knock these products for their claims of being pre-seasoned. I give them the benefit of the doubt on that. I have simply never used a pre-seasoned skillet that didn't need to be really seasoned a few times before it was useful for cooking purposes.

The second consideration is regarding size. It is pretty common to make the mistake of looking at skillets and their prices and choosing one that is simply too large. Cast-iron is heavy, so bigger is not always better. This 10 inch skillet is the perfect size for general use. Even if you choose another brand, unless you are cooking regularly for 5-6 people I would advise you against getting anything larger than 10 inches. The 12 inch skillet is only a few dollars more but that extra weight and bulk will ensure that you will get to use it much less. The larger skillets often crowd out most stove-tops and are harder to maneuver.

Seasoning is a good deal of work and there is more than one approach. In my experience, you will definitely want to get your oven hotter and do your seasoning longer than what the instructions indicate. I personally think you need to heat your oven to at least 425 degrees, though some people recommend seasoning your pan at up to 550 degrees. No matter what the temperature, you will want to keep your pan hot for the better part of an hour and allow it to remain in the oven for several hours afterwards as it slowly cools. The 30 minutes noted on the instructions are just not going to cut it.

If you find that food is sticking, even after seasoning, you are going to want to season it again. Seasoning is just meant to speed up the longer term seasoning that happens from cooking in your pan and oiling it consistently over time. Eventually you will reach a nice non-stick surface that will require only infrequent re-seasoning and very little oil for cooking.

One common benefit of cast-iron is that it will generally produce a more even heat than other types of pans. My only real negative observation about this pan is that I noticed that it ran center-hot, meaning that there was a hot-spot towards the middle of the pan that didn't exist around the edges. I think with further seasoning this should be minimized, but some more expensive pans seem to have less noticeable hot-spots even before they have been seasoned.

I had a friend who had a cast iron skillet that I used to marvel at. With no additional oil, that skillet produced great food with wonderful flavor and in less time than other skillets. When I asked how long it took to obtain that wonderful patina on the inside of the surface, their answer was daunting: years of cooking and continuous seasoning.

Their post-cooking ritual was as follows: first they would slowly rinse out the pan, making sure it was totally clean. Then, they would reheat the skillet to dry it out completely. Finally, they would recoat the inside of the skillet with a thin layer of vegetable oil. Upon further research, it seems like some people substitute mineral oil for vegetable oil. I think it depends on how often you use your skillet, since vegetable oil will go bad if it sits in your pan for more than a few days. Using your cast iron skillet is the most important thing you can do to break it in and start to build a permanent seasoning on the surface. If possible, you will want to spend the first month using this skillet as much as possible. If you use it daily, and clean off the excess oil before each use, vegetable oil should be fine as it won't have time to go rancid.

I still recommend this skillet as long as you are willing to do the research needed to properly prepare it for use and care for it. For the price there are few cast-iron skillets that are as good and give you as much of a head-start with the pre-seasoning. Be mindful of the hot-spots and make sure you keep track of how *non-stick* the surface feels after seasoning. If food sticks at all, you have not seasoned the pan enough. With repeated seasoning and proper care, you will get a great return on your time invested. Please see the comments section for references to more information.

I purchased this skillet after reading every review here, believing that the negative reviews were probably due to a lack of understanding how to work with cast iron.

At first, I did like the skillet. I took it through my own seasoning process (even though it was pre-seasoned) and was happy with both the appearance and (more importantly) the cooking qualities the first couple of times I used it.

I have been using it 1-2 times daily for the two weeks I've had it. A cast iron skillet is supposed to become better and more seasoned the more you use it. This one, however, is becoming worse. It doesn't heat as evenly as my other cast iron pieces, and no matter how carefully I clean and re-season it (I clean with kosher salt and a lint-free cloth, rinse with hot water, towel-dry then heat-dry it, then re-season with oil), the "seasoning" is becoming more and more uneven.

I had hesitated to buy this skillet since it's made in China and I don't want even the smallest chance that there is lead in this skillet. I should have gone with my hunch because now, more than ever, I'm upset at the idea of unknown elements being in this skillet, especially since the skillet isn't up to par with my other cast iron. I've also heard more and more stories of Emeril cast iron cracking... which I had thought initially due to too-rapid heating or cooking, but now I'm wondering if the Chinese cast iron itself is an inferior compound with sub-par "filler" material.

By point of comparison, four days ago I bought two Lodge 8" skillets. Of course, after my Emeril pre-seasoning experience, I had low expectations. But I was amazed as I gently washed them for the first time and water actually beaded on the surface and rolled right off. I decided to do something bold and daring, and cooked some eggs in the Lodge -only the second time I cooked with it. Amazingly, those eggs slid right out as if the pan were Teflon -a minor miracle with cast iron.

I can't return this skillet since I've used it, but I will be buying a Lodge 12" skillet instead. I'd rather waste my money and KNOW that I'm buying a safe, time-tested, made-in-the-USA item from a company with a longstanding reputation. The Lodge skillet is much less expensive, yet worth so much more... the superior pre-seasoning and the highly reputable manufacturer make Lodge the better deal even if it were higher-priced. Sorry, Emeril, but my vote is with Lodge.

If hadn't looked any further than the reviews here, I wouldn't have purchased this pan, but the reviewers seemed a little 'green' when it comes to cast iron and so I looked around some and ended up buying it. I have to say I am very satisfied.

First of all, I have never seen a 'pre-seasoned' piece of cast iron that was actually meant to be cooked in straight away. The instructions that come with this pan (for those who bothered to read them) recommend further seasoning anyway.

And yes, it does need further seasoning and careful integration into your cooking setup. Cast iron rewards patience, and this pan is a great big piece of iron, heavier and thicker than the Lodge equivalent and made to last for generations. It also is a bit rough textured for a cast iron pan and you will find that it takes longer to build up a nice slick surface, but it's far from impossible as has been suggested. Only the years will tell, but my guess is that it will hold on to its seasoning particularly well once it's fully established.

For the record, this is the method I use to season my cast iron:

-Rub a thin layer of lard or vegetable shortening on the pan, inside and out

-Put the pan in 300 degree oven for 15 minutes, pull it out and pour off any fat that's pooled in the bottom

-Put it back in for a couple hours

-Turn off the oven and let it cool in there

-Repeat this process a few times afterward, but in a 450 degree oven for 45 minutes to an hour

-If the pan is sticky when you're done with a seasoning, you didn't cook it long enough

Mass produced mediocrity -made for the licensing benefit of Emiril and little else. It's crudely fired and hard to season. This skillet and the rest of Emiril's cast iron cookware is made like this. It has tons of pits and grooves and iron dust that was stuck on during the firing process (cheap) . It also seem to rust easily or to be more prone to rusting than better quality cast iron cookware. If you want real cast iron cookware buy the Lodge brand. Emiril's cookware may be more competitively priced, but you get what you pay for. Emiril's pans are also made in China. The Lodge brand is made in USA

I should have known better when I was at Bed Bath and Beyond purchasing this item. I told the clerk, "Can I have one in a box, instead of the display item, cause this one seems to have imperfections all over it." He responded with, "Oh all of Emiril's cookware is like that." I was seduced by the name like an idiot and bought the pan anyway. Next week I'm getting Lodge skillets and donating the two Emiril's I bought to charity.

This is a great slow cooker. Wonderful to have a separate pan to brown things on the cooktop and then put it on the base to slow cook. It is a great size for making soup recipes that serve 6 to 8. I really like that it has a plastic snap on lid for refrigerator storage. I bought the straps as well so that if I need to travel with a dish to pass, it will be secure in the travel case.

I own a West Bend crock pot from approximate 40 years ago and it still is going strong. I accidentally saw this new crock pot on line and knew I had to purchase it. It's heavy, but has a very comfortable handle and the non-stick surface has been the best I've ever used. This is certainly the most expensive pan I've ever owned, so I cannot comment on its performance next to other pans in it's price range, but it FAR out performs my previous fry pan (a $50 Calphalon pan from Target). In the end, my only real concern is the price. So far, I really do feel it's been worth it, but only time will tell. If the pan holds up well under extended use then it will prove to be a wonderful product worth the high price.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I've owned a few Scanpan pans over the years. I also recently purchased a new ceramic glass top range and have slowly been replacing my cookware. Scanpan makes some of the best, long-lasting pans on the market. The IQ 10.25-inch fry pan is no different.

Quality and craftsmanship is something that Scanpan takes seriously. The pan is Pfoa-free and while it's safe for metal utensils, I've never used them on my non-stick skillets. I always use silicon or plastic utensils and I always hand wash them. Even though they almost always say dishwasher safe I just never like putting expensive items like this in the dishwasher. If you keep care of it, the pan will last a long time. With that said, the pan has gotten a bunch of use and has cooked all types of food. It has held up considerably well. It's not easily scratched and surface (inside and outside) maintains its finish.

I've not had any problems with food sticking in this pan or any other Scanpan that I've owned. Cooks evenly and works on smooth glass top surfaces (as well as most other cooking surfaces). Clean up is a snap.

The fry pan is oven safe up to 500 degrees. I find the weight of this particular pan to be of medium weight. Certainly not heavy, but not the lightest I've ever held. On the lighter end, somewhere in the middle. Of course, something of this quality is bound to have some weight to it, but it's still easy to handle and use. My only gripe with Scanpan are the sizes of some of their pans. At 10.25-inch, you'll likely find that most of your existing lids are not going to work.

Heats evenly, cooks beautifully with oil or dry -even made pancakes to test the heat conductivity, cooked them perfectly! Even better than my griddle designed to cook pancakes. This pan would be ideal for crepes also.

This is a fairly shallow pan, lower edges/sides than any other saute pan I have ever owned, I really love it -easier to remove eggs, pancakes and other delicate items. While the sides of pan are not deep enough to stir fry large amounts of veggies like fresh spinach or chard, it works great for most everything else including onions, asparagus, bell peppers, eggs and sauces.

The handle has a nice padded grip, easy to hold and the overall weight of the pan is very good, not so heavy it gives me carpel tunnel, but sturdy and solid quality -the thickness of the bottom of the pan keeps the base perfectly flat, even tho my oven burner isn't! And the non-stick coating may be the best quality I have ever used.

I like a lot of things extra well done and sometimes I accidentally burn stuff and have to scrub the charred food from my pans. The non-stick surface is like something that arrived from another planet. I can practically use one pass of a paper towel and get all the crud out of the pan. Unlike other non-stick surfaces, it's fairly easy to brown your food without adding a ton of butter. It's the only non-stick cookware I've ever used that advertises that the use of metal utensils is fine. We don't have an induction stove, so I cannot review that functionality but I've been very impressed with this light weight, but very durable pan. My other pans' lids fit this one perfectly as well. A fine piece of cookware for any kitchen.

This pan is everything advertised. It is as non-stick as you can get without the dangerous coatings. My chef friend recommended that after cleanup and drying I coat the pan with oil. I use olive oil each time and the pan is becoming more non-stick with each use. You will have to change your cooking techniques: pre-heat the pan with no oils in it; don't soak for hours in soapy water (just a few minutes and it cleans up fine), use MUCH lower temperatures to cook beautifully and successfully. The pan is not too heavy and you can buy a glass lid for it from Amazon. Of course, Amazon was once again great to deal with and my order arrived quickly. This pan is worth every penny and I will be filling my kitchen with other sizes of the same type and company.

When I ordered this to replace a non-stick skillet I had left on high for 10 minutes or so, I thought it might have been non-stick. First use proved it had to be greased first. I began using half oil and half butter. Worked fine. After cooking a nice rib-eye, I scraped the bottom to make a fond, adding a bit more butter and oil, turning the heat up and adding some chicken broth. Poured the sauce on the steak and it proved to be superb. I have other non-stick skillets, but this will be used for steaks (and "omelettes").

I got this pan for car camping. I spend a lot of time at music festivals and I cook. Specifically, I cook eggs. This pan is great...about the same in terms of nonstick as a seasoned cast iron skillet but lighter and I don't need to worry about maintaining the seasoning. Before you ask, no, it isn't as nonstick as a teflon or other nonstick finish pan. On the other hand, the anodized finish will last for years, rather than the one-year use of a sprayed-on finish. And you don't have to use a plastic spatula, and you don't have to worry about eating the finish! Just get it good and greasy and preheat it and it works very nicely. Oh, a few other things to point out: the handle stays cool, and it is riveted on with stainless, not aluminum rivets, so it should stay on well.

If you are like me and hate the waste of throwing away another nonstick pan every year, this might be the pan you are looking for.

So happy we ordered this pan. My wife and I were doing egg poaching the old fashioned way with boiling water and vinegar. Once we got this pan no need for any of that, just boil the water, which doesn't take long at all, place the eggs in the small bowls cover and your good to go.

A few issues we had: the pan is smaller than we thought, very small pan. The egg holders are small too. The pan and egg holder frame is very light weight. Seems it should have been more heavy duty by the looks of the picture and price. But we've been using it and it works great.

Tina and I looked for an egg poacher at several local stores. Surprisingly, they were very hard to find and not of good quality. The Paula Deen poacher we found online is perfect for our needs. The capacity to cook four eggs at once and the glass lid are both features we desired. The egg cups are truely "non-stick" so far making clean up a breeze. The red speckled finish is quite attractive as well. We recommend this product to anyone.

This is okay but I definitely liked the old one we had instead(Excelsteel Stainless Non-stick poacher). We lost one of the cups for the old one so it was time for a new one. I thought this one looked really nice and it had Paula's name on it. The first time using it I noticed it took longer for the eggs to cook. Since it took longer it was harder to tell when they were done. When we took the eggs out there was liquid(water?) on them.. It came right off but it still seemed weird. We never had that with the old one. With the quirks, it does still cook the egg so I rate it three stars.

The CBO-1000 is very handy. I'm no cook, but within a few days of ownership I've made hamburgers, jalapeno-cheese cornbead and shish kebab. It is easy to clean, heats up quickly and doesn't take up much space. I would wholeheartedly recommend it as a countertop cooking appliance that does a lot.

However, I have one complaint and it's significant. The knob on the right that turns the unit on and also serves as a timer seems to have melted so that it no longer engages the stem. I can do all the same functions by sticking a screwdriver into a slot in the stem and twisting, but I definitely have a product that failed on the third round of cooking.

I hope Cuisinart will consider this problem and provide purchasers with knobs that don't succumb to the heat. I am in no way recommending that consumers substitute a screwdriver for the knob. IT MIGHT BE DANGEROUS. Consumers shouldn't have to jury-rig a device that costs $129 and fails in three rounds of cooking.

I'd give this four or maybe five stars if the knob hadn't failed.
