I abslolutely LOVE this pan! Not only is it totally non-stick it's the perfect size for every day use. Also, unlike other DARK interior pans that never feel quite clean this one gets sqeaky clean with no effort at all. While it's true that these particular pans aren't utensil safe, that's a very minor issue. After discovering how wonderful this was I also order the larger 10" covered pan.

Calphalon pans perform excellently. If you want a high quality pan, this is a an excellent product. I thought it might be helpful to potential buyers to have a comparison between this CS pan to Calphalon's traditional (contemporary style) non-stick pan with the dark coating in the same size. The CS pan seems to be a bit thinner and consequently seems to heat up a bit faster, though just as evenly as the traditional. I mostly use these pans for cooking eggs and the odd thing that the CS pan does is when frying eggs over-easy, the eggs have what looks like microscopic bubble holes when you flip them. It's barely noticeable and certainly not unappetizing, but that doesn't happen with the other pan. Non-stick pans in general can be easily damaged. So, if you're looking for a tough, take any kind of abuse cookware, don't get the non-stick or perhaps buy a cheap non-stick that you can toss without regret. But, if you use wooden or silicon spatulas (no metal), don't leave acidic sauces (i.e., tomato sauce or marinara) sitting in them for long periods of time, and make sure they are completely cool before cleaning them, you'll have a great performing pan that should last a long time. Maybe I'll check back in a year and give it a longevity rating!

Phe.No.Men.Al. This is, without question, the best pan I have ever had for making eggs. The nonstick surface is flawless. The pan heats evenly. The handle is comfortable and substantial. The brushed stainless exterior looks great and does not appear spotty if you leave the pan to air-dry after washing. About the only criticism I have -and it isn't really a criticism -is that this pan conducts heat so well and so quickly that for the best eggs, you should set the heat lower than you are probably accustomed to doing.

Buy it. You won't regret it.
