I love this piece of equipment because it really works well. It does all that it says and is a breeze to clean. ONE caveat though: the black labels on the dials (eg. warm, etc., 300 degrees, etc., grill, off, griddle) wash off!!! I have rewritten them with permanent marker but that's not a viable option on the stainless surface. I have been reduced to making a template/mockup. At least my efforts are a testament to my fondness for the product -I don't correct mistakes like this often.

I've been using two commonly recognized panini makers I won't mention names neither of which have temperature controls, on-off switches, or removable platens for cleaning; the Sensio has allSensio 13121 Bella Cucina Stainless-Steel Electric Grill and Griddle of these features. I can chose between a griddle and a grill setting, and then decide which temperature I want for that setting. For instance, panini are usually toasted around 400 degree F, and I can set my grill to that temperature. The ridged cooking surface provides nice marks on the bread, or of course steaks, burgers, or other items for grilling. Changing the platens is as simple as pressing a button on the side and lifting out the non-stick cast aluminum plate top and bottom and installing the smooth griddle platens. Do wait till it cools; these get very hot. My two minor complaints are that the pivoting top, which locks in place for closing, could use a small knob of handle so you can adjust it as you close it on the food; all the surfaces are quite hot. The other observation, though I don't know a great solution, is the grease cups that sit under the small corner drains when your grilling meats are easily bumped and moved from under the drain. Some sort of simple attachment would eliminate potential messes.Best Deals for Download Sensio 13121 Bella Cucina Stainless-Steel Electric
You can cook just about anything with this Grill. With the adjustable temperature dial for grill and griddle, it gets hot enough to do a 3/4" steak and shrimp are a snap. My only reservatiion is that Bella Cucina could have included a more comprehensive cooking guide in the user's manual.Honest reviews on Download Sensio 13121 Bella Cucina Stainless-Steel Electric
I've bought two of these and a George Foreman, and I can tell you I prefer the Bella Cucina by FAR. Now here are the plus side items: First, I LOVE that it has an on-off knob. I hate having to unplug a grill just to turn it off because my outlets are few and far between in my kitchen and not always easy to get to. And since this one has removable grill plates, I just leave it plugged into the closest outlet even though it's back behind the spice rack, wash the grill plates, return them to the grill and I'm all set. Two, the washable grill plates are a MUST HAVE for obvious reasons.
Third thing is that the grill opens up flat so you can use it like a griddle. Total bonus.
Fourth, the power cord is WELL protected and it's not built into the structure of the hinge, so no matter how many times you open and close it, you don't jeopardize the wiring.
Fifth, they must have fixed the problem of disappearing ink on the front panel. My first one, all the words on the front washed right off. This one, no problems so far! Might be because the new one is by "Cuisinart" and the other one didn't mention that. But they look identical, so I don't really know.
Oh, one more thing. This has a LOT more space than other grills AND it has a SEAR setting that is so cool. I guess that was actually two more things. There's probably more I've forgotten about.
Now, you may ask, why have I bought two? Well, unfortunately, my husband dropped the first one out the back of his truck. It DID continue to work for a long time even with all that trauma, but I suspect that it was damaged nonetheless because it just eventually heated up less and less.
By the way, this grill at "Best Buy" was $134.00 which is crazy when you can get it here on Amazon for less than $60. So this grill, bought on Amazon.com is definitely the way to go.
