I own several Lava cast iron products and use them everyday. These pans are indestructible! Cast iron skillets, and Dutch Ovens are probably the most versatile pans you can own. I bought this skillet to add to my cast-iron collection-I already own one Lava skillet that I use for a variety of different meals. Some of my favorites are:
• Grilled-cheese sandwiches
• Skillet cobbler
• Omelettes
• Quesadillas
• Pancakes and Crepes
• Tapas
• Vegetable sides
• Frittatas and Quiche
• And my favorite Cornbread
I get so much use out of my first Lava skillet I wanted another one to do double duty in the kitchen for the upcoming holidays. What I love about Lava is both the beautiful color their enameled cast-iron comes in, and the quality it is unreal. I struggled for a long time deciding which cast-iron brand to purchase from…I stumbled across Lava when I saw them in a high-end cookware store in Turkey, on a trip to Europe two years ago with my husband. I had a few pieces shipped to my house after our trip and they have since become a staple in my kitchen. I am so excited that the cookware is now becoming available in the US!
This skillet has a really nice size cooking surface area and the handle is very comfortable. The wood on the handle is really high quality and it is nice to be able to hold onto iteven when cooking extremely hot food. I would recommend any of Lava's cookware as a must-have kitchen staple. I absolutely love mine!
