Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program We've had Analon nonstick cookware in the past, and this set measures up to the high standards we've come to expect. The construction is solid -the rivets are tight and the silicone inserts on the handles are finished well. While the company claims you can use regular utensils with the durable non-stick coating in these pans, I don't trust that claim. Analon made a similar claim about the set we had before this, and it just isn't true.

The pans are easy to wash up both inside and out thanks to nonstick coating on the outsides of the pans.

In terms of performance, this set does well. We cook with gas, and the pans heat quickly and evenly.

The bonus baking sheets are nice, too. They are pretty substantial, not flimsy, and the nonstick coating works well on them.

The only caveat I have is that this set features a slight "tulip" shape to the tops of the pans. As a result, the lids for this set are unique to this set -their diameters are slightly different than those of the standard sets. These lids won't fit on our older Analon pans; however, the older lids do fit on these, if a bit loosely.

Overall, it's a good basic set. Our last set is several years old and going strong, and I expect this set will perform at least as well. If you want quality non-stick cookware that isn't exorbitantly expensive, this is a good line to check out.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I'm not a big fan of buying cookware in sets. So what if they match? Are you staging your kitchen for a Better Homes & Gardens photo shoot, or are you cooking in it? What makes a good saute pan doesn't necessarily make a good sauce pan, or a good baking sheet.

But as sets go, this one is one of the better ones I've seen.

I'm really not a fan of non-stick coatings. Many of these so-called miracle coatings have been proven by time to be quite bad. One little scratch, or one time with the heat too high, and suddenly you're leaching something harmful into your food, which is now sticking anyway. This cookware uses DuPont Autograph® 2 non-stick coating which appears to be quite solid. The marketing says it's scratch resistant, and you can use metal utensils in it, but only time will tell.

This cookware is a very heavy-gauge, anodized aluminium. That means you'll get good heat distribution, and over time, it should resist warping, but you still will need to take care regarding heat shock. You can't get this cookware as hot as cast iron, and you sure can't put cold food into a hot pan. So don't plan on using them for searing. (And don't put them in the sink, or on a tile countertop until they cool.

I really like the handles. You can get a good grip on them without having to use a towel or an oven mitt. Similarly, the handles on the glass lids can be handled with your bare hands because they are significantly raised from the lid itself.

The large pot is sometimes referred to as a pasta pot, and sometimes referred to as a stockpot. But no pasta pot needs to be such a heavy gauge, and 8qt is pretty small for a stockpot. If you use it for pasta, after you pour-off the water and pasta, I wouldn't want to return the drained pasta to the pot like I would with a thinner-gauged pot that will cool-down as soon as the water is drained. This heavy gauged pot will hold too much heat, and you could end-up scorching your pasta. Instead, I would consider that pot to be an over-sized dutch oven despite its straight sides.

The saute pan is quite impressive, assuming that the non-stick surface meets the test of time. Whether you're sauteing onions and other vegies, or making a nice omelette, I think this is the best piece of the set.

The sauce pans are heavier gauged than most people would be used to. If you're used to electric cooking, your style may be adapted to situations where you can't lower the temperature quickly, but if you're used to gas cooking, be aware that it will take longer than you may be used to for your pan to cool down when you turn off the flame. The DuPont Autograph® 2 non-stick coating should keep your sauce from sticking to the sauce pan when it scorches, and it should also allow you to heat tomato-based (high acid) sauces without damaging the aluminium.

Of course, the test of time will depend on how well the DuPont Autograph® 2 non-stick coating will last. And that's going to be what will really tell us whether this set is worth the price.

If you need a set that includes all these pieces, this one is an easy way out. Overall, the compromises made between the pieces to standardize them are done well. If you're buying open stock, the 3qt covered skillet makes a pretty good everyday pan, and the 10in saute pan is nice. But I'd pass on the 1-1/2qt and 3qt sauce pans, and the 8qt pasta pot/stockpot. The baking sheets are too fancy considering the utility I expect from a sheetpan, and how beat-up even the best sheetpan will get over time.

But generally, assuming the DuPont Autograph® 2 non-stick coating holds-up, this could be a lifetime set for a young couple. But if the coating doesn't hold-up, it could be an expensive mistake to buy a whole set, especially if you don't need it.

Edit: After using these pots and pans for a number of weeks, I am very, very happy with their performance. I have never had non-stick cookware that was as non-stick as this. The other night I blended a very, very sticky sauce into what I was cooking. I expected it to not stick as in "easily comes out with just a spatula", but it came out almost as if it were water -I just poured my sauced dish right out, and onto the plate, and cleaned the pot with a swipe of a paper towel.

Of course I can't sear anything, but I also haven't burned, or scorched anything, either. And although I've used metal utensils, I still don't see any scratches.

I'll report back more on the durability in a few months, but so far, I'm more impressed than I expected to be.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program In reviewing this cookware set, I want to be a little careful. For me, the best test of cookware is time. The cookware set that made me meals when I was 5 (my mother's) are still in use and the food is just as good. Rather than point out how pretty this cookware set is (its very pretty and looks gourmet), I want to take a different route to my review.

First of all, Anolon has been making gourmet cookware since 1989. I believe they take their name from the anodozied surface process that makes their cookware nonstick. If you are not familiar with the brand Anolon, it is owned by Meyer Corp which also owns the brands for Circulon, Farberware, KitchenAid, Silverstone and Bonjour, all high quality names.

The process by which pots and pans are made non-stick is call anodization, which isn't cheap but does make the cookware very durable. The surface process is prepped and sealed in a way that metal is strengthen. Anodization is electro-chemical, where aluminum is put into an acid bath and an electrical charge is applied, an effective controlled oxidation that produces aluminum oxide. In short, it is heavier, stronger and non stick, all the things you'd want in a quality pot or pan. The process was developed originally for restaurants (where pots and pans can take years and years of daily abuse). The final measure of quality is the thickness of the metal which goes back to my first comment about durability. More on that in a minute.

Before I actually review the product itself, anodization is specific to aluminum and there have been health concers that aluminum could be leaked to Alzheimers and a variety of cancers. I am not a doctor (or a scientist) but a little bit of research on the internet points out that anodization for pots and pans generally do not have this concern, that the process of anodizing the aluminum makes it safe for users. The finish is considered chemically stable, non-toxic and will not decompose. This is not a guarantee, its simply the path I took when I was considering buying anodized cookware and my concerns were alleviated.

So, onto the actual review. As I mentioned, the pots are pretty but that's not what I'm generally concerned about when buying or using cookware. In fact, pretty pots and pans make me suspicious...if they made them pretty, does that mean they did not make them well?

In this case, I'm happy to point out that the pots are heavy, solid and cook well. Anodized aluminum can get pretty cheap, this is NOT that. In fact, I really like how this one feels in the hand and cooks on the stove. It heats quickly and distributes its heat effectively, no hot spots that I could detect. The physical engineering of the pots is spacious and the assortment that comes with this will be sufficient for most needs. The tops of the pots have what they call a tulip shape which means a slight flare that keeps drips outside the pot to a minimum and the pot itself cleans pretty much with a wipe.

All in all, very happy with my new pots and pans. Come on by and I'll cook something in them for you. If you are looking for a great set, this might be a worthwhile consideration!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I really like cooking in these pots. They cook food evenly as well as durable.I have used them from frying a chicken to making soups ,pastas and gravy.U think the bakeware pans are a great added bonus as well. These pans are great for a cookie sheet or placing something on top ,like a glass baking dish. I am very surprised how well they clean up .They make special sponges for these pots so they do not get scratched. I will be using these for my holiday cooking this year as well. The only probem I had is the place where the silicone is (the handles) do get very hot need potholders to handle.Other then the color is not as bright as the picture. The pots are a great value and will last a long time .

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Anolon Advanced Cookware is a very nice, high quality cookware set made to last. The set includes nine pieces plus a pair of bonus cookie pans to cover all of the important cookware bases and help individuals prepare foods more consistently than before.

This cookware set is nonstick in design and I like that the covers fit snugly, lift easily, and are not prone to coming loose. I have had my share of cheaper pots and pans that didn't have secure handles. They would feel loose to the touchoften right out of the boxand eventually, would need to be tightened back into place if they could even be tightened at all. There is no problem with loose fitting lids in this set. They hold together and keep the pans sealed well while in use.

Another vote on the positive side for Anolon, and probably its strongest point, is its ability to distribute the heat. There are no hot spots with these pots and pansthe heat is evenly spread and cooks food very well. Even when the heat source is more concentrated, like with my gas range, the cookware manages to disperse the heat and warm the food evenly.

I haven't owned this cookware set long enough to comment on its ability to remain durable, but from what I can tell, this is a high quality set of pots and pans that seem like they will last for a very long time. I like this much more than my previous cookware set and most who buy it will agree that it outperforms most of the competition. Yes, it is more expensive than what you would pay for a typical set of pots and pans at a local department store, but the high quality is worth the price. I really cannot find any negatives with this set of cookware, and it therefore earns an easy fivestar rating and high recommendation.
