Flipper is shaped to be used in a skillet with high sides. The silicon is reinforced with metal to stiffen the flipping area. If you use a flat pan with small sides, it could push the cakes around a bit before the flipper gets under them. Is most effective in a large pan with high sides as the handle is angled to work with the sides. Try to find a side view. Well made.

If you ever wanted or needed a large spatula then this is the one for you. There's nothing you could possibly cook that would be too large for this spatula to flip for you. With it's being silicone, it can withstand high heats too. I recommend this spatula to everyone.

This is a wonderful kitchen accessory. It has a good neck on it to facilitate flipping & provide ergonomic stability. Use it for those Saturday morning pancakes, turning that awkward sized object, etc. The neck allows you to get easily into a high rimmed pan. The silicon does not scrape your expensive pans. It is tolerant to 500 degrees. Dishwasher safe for easy clean-up. Super!

Update: Almost 2 years later, after a LOT of use, it still looks new. No rust, goes in dishwasher. Great accessory. Very pleased.

I like the Elizabeth Karmel's Kitchen Friends Super Silicone Round Spatula with Offset Handle because it is easy to turn over the fish fillets without breaking them into pieces which isn't the case with my regular spatulas which are too small to handle the whole fillet.

The offset handle is an advantage compared to standard spatulas because it is easier to slide in under the fillets since you haven't the steep angle that they have when using.

I love the silicone but this is a little big for using in the kitchen to flip pancakes. For a grill spatula it is fine.
