This is an awesome product! It makes great fluffy quality eggs in under two minutes for a tasty egg muffin. Cooking time varies greatly by microwave wattage. It took me a few attempts to perfect the time. I have a 700 watt microwave so I cook mine for 1:45. My father has a 900 watt oven and cooks his for 1:15. So many microwave cooking items fail to meet expectations, but the Nordic Ware egg muffin cooker does what it claims. Egg quality tastes fabulous. Lots of possibilities for additions, like cheese. Super easy cleanup for this high performance convenience. Highly recommended!

I take a small bowl, mix two large eggs with a splash of milk (don't over beat it, just get it mixed well) and pour it into the gray side of the container. Close the lid, and microwave it for a minute and a half (our microwave says it's 850 watts if that helps). The steam will cause a little bit of popping noise here and there. Some steam might shoot out from under the lid and onto the bottom of the microwave, but I haven't had any issues with egg splattering inside the microwave. Before opening the thing, I flip it over and give it a gentle shake so the egg falls into the lid. Then I open it up and flip the egg onto some bread. This way I have better aim to get the egg on the bread instead of shaking it over the bread to get the egg out of the cooker. Not that its hard to get out, but that little bit of a shake can make your egg land off center of the bread. I'm just OCD enough that my egg must be centered. This thing is small enough that you can set your bread or muffin on top of the cooked egg and then flip.
As far as cleaning goes... a little bit of egg will be stuck to the inside of the cooker, but it's not baked on hard. It cleans out easily enough. Just wipe the egg out and toss the thing in the dishwasher. I haven't tried using cooking spray in it yet, but you might want to try it if you want this to be even easier to clean out.
It's just a nice, handy little microwave container that's really inexpensive. The way I do it, it makes a nice thick fluffy disc of egg which is perfect for making sandwiches. It's hot enough when you first take it out of the microwave that if you throw a slice of cheese on there it will melt enough to be tasty. It doesn't taste the same as frying an egg in a pan on the stove, but it's not supposed to, and it's not going to, and it's healthier than frying anyway.
Nordic Ware also makes a microwave egg broiler which can hard boil 4 eggs at a time in the microwave. If you like to hard boil eggs (or even soft boil them too) I would also recommend that product.

I absolutely hate washing greasy pans, so being a bacon-aholic, I had to find an easier way to get crispy bacon on the table ASAP or sooner. I've been using a microwave safe plate, and zapping the bacon for about 5 ½ minutes on 70% power, but couldn't resist trying out this product, just because.Comparative results:
Bacon a la plate:
1. Put a paper towel on the plate
2. Put the Bacon on the paper towel
3. Put another paper towel on top
4. Zap at 70% power for 5 1/2 minutes
5. Remove top paper towel
6. Put bacon in another plate ready to eat
7. Discard greasy bottom paper towel
8. Allow plate to cool, add dishwashing liquid and water for a few minutes
9. Wash as usual
Bacon a la gadget
1. Put bacon on grooved side of gadget
2. Put a paper towel on top (I hate cleaning splatters off microwaves too)
3. Zap at 70% power for 7 minutes
4. Zap again depending how it comes out
5. Remove top paper towel
6. Put bacon in another plate ready to eat
7. Reserve gunky stuff at bottom of gadget if you're going to use it later
8. Apply generous quantities of dishwashing liquid and hot water, leave gadget to soak
9. Wash off whatever comes off, then leave to soak longer
10. Rinse, and soak again
11. Realize that sticky stuff isn't coming off the sides of the ridges or the inside rim of the gadget
12. Apply more detergent and use brute force with a brush to the problem areas
13. Remember to brush both sides of each ridge
14. Wash again
Summary:
For bacon without all the mess
Just use the microwave
There's no real need to use a pan
Unless it's fat you crave
All you need's a dinner plate
And two thick Bounty sheets
The rendered fat helps it to cook
Providing crispy treats
This gadget works, make no mistake
But it's too hard to clean
Use the flip side as a plate
And zap some quick cuisine

Honest reviews on Review of Download Nordic Ware Microwave Compact Bacon Rack
I bought this bacon tray specifically to fit in my tiny microwave oven. As a user of other bacon trays throughout the years I am big fan of the way this tray and others like it cook the bacon and allow the grease to drain off. I am similarly pleased with the way this tray performs in that respect. However, that being said, the size of the tray is the biggest drawback. Regular pieces of bacon hang over the side (although they generally shrink through the cooking process). I recommend centercut bacon for this tray as it is generally a shorter cut of pork and fits more easily on the tray. The maximum amount of bacon you will be able to cook at a time is 6 pieces and that is really pushing it 4 pieces is better. This tray is suitable for small microwave ovens and small output.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Review of Download Nordic Ware Microwave Compact Bacon Rack
This is very handy indeed and works like a charm. I'm not really sure what the problem was with Penmouse's cooker, but this one closes perfectly and leaves absolutely zero mess in the microwave. Not only that, but the cookware itself cleans up very easily. The egg literally just peels right out of the dish, which makes it very simple to use and is an added bonus when making your breakfast sandwich. It does fit a muffin perfectly, but also just plain toasted bread. It is about the size of a piece of lunch meat.
I've added all kinds of veggies to it with great success, although if you add a lot of extras you should only use one egg instead of two, otherwise it will reach over the lip of the dish. You could experiment yourself just to be sure. It also warns you that any meat you wish to add should be cooked before cooking the egg because the cooking time for an egg is much faster than meat.
You can use two eggs but I would recommend that if you are using jumbo eggs, or adding a lot of extras, that you mix it in a bowl prior to putting it in the cookware dish. Two jumbo eggs alone nearly reach the lip of the dish, so it will get messy when trying to beat the eggs (but only when beating, not cooking). A bowl is a simple solution and works perfectly.
When using two jumbo eggs alone (with a little milk), the cooked eggs are light and fluffy and about an inch thick. It really does make an excellent breakfast sandwich.
This is my first Nordic Ware purchase and I've always stayed away from microwave cooking, but you can be assured that I'll start microwaving more often and I'll definitely be making more Nordic Ware purchases. I had no idea how easy this was.
