Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This five-quart saute pan is big, but not unwieldy. What's great about it is the extra handle that is opposite the regular long handle. This makes the pan easy to move from stove-top to sink. Although the pan is bigger than my burners, it seems to heat pretty evenly when I stir or rotate foods. I will definitely get a lot of use out this pan because it is well made.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Like a whole fish. Or a bunch of asparagus. This pan is great for those situations. But it has some other very nice features.

The oval shape lets you fit more pots on the stovetop. There have been a few times that I had all four burners going, and it was a bit tricky. I can angle this pan in diagonally so that it shares the space more nicely, but I still have a lot of cooking volume.

But the best thing for me is that I can saute a lot of something... a bunch of mushrooms, a mess of greens, or ton of shredded cabbage... much more easily. The high sides hold everything in, and there's a lot of surface area so everything cooks more quickly and evenly.

The two handles are essential for a pan that's this long, so that was a nice touch. And of course the pan can go right from the stovetop to the oven, which is great for casseroles.

I love the design of this pan. It makes a great companion for my Rachael Ray Hard Anodized Nonstick 8-Quart Oval Pasta Pot with Glass Lid, Orange, and of course my Rachael Ray Tools 2-Piece Lazy Spoon & Lazy Ladle Set, Orange.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program first off right out of the box the lid was broken. The inner rim/seal was bent. Its so thin and flimsy I was able to bend it back into place but its no longer a smooth bend. It was not damage in packaging either as it was well packed.

Next, its very thin and does not cook evenly as the bottom is not encapsulated and just a thin piece of aluminum. The non-stick coating is the cheap teflon type (confirmed by the warning that it is dangerous to birds).

Finally this may be a blessing or curse but I find it way too large. Do not expect to use this and the other 3 burners at one time. It is so large and since its an oval it over laps into the other burners (my stove is normal size), the handle gets in the way due to this problem as well. Part of the probme it does not heat evenly is because it is so large. Only a small portion of the unit is in contact with heat so the middle gets too hot while the rest of it is not hot enough.

Not worth more than maybe $15. I am surprised at all the 5 star reviews. I think these people are easy to please or have not used it long enough to experience the faults yet.

To sum it up, cheaply made, low quality lid, does not heat evenly and too large if you want to use all 4 burners at one time.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I am not a professional chef so I apologize in advance for my non-technical review.

The first thing I notice about this pan is that its VERY LONG oval. As a result if you have a small stove, it takes up most of the space.

Pro: HUGE, can cook large meals

Con: The edges are not as warm as in the center where the fire is. I found myself constantly rotating and moving around the pan so that there is fire hitting all areas, that all sides of the food is cooked at the same level.

This is a huge con for me because it makes me feel that the Rachael Ray brand is more expensive because it is Rachael Ray and not because the quality is better. I justified the premium price in my head because the quality is better and not because it is a celebrity line. You live and learn.

The handle is also extremely long, so in the oven you can't add another dish (I will often have multiple dishes in the oven to save on time). It is also a bit cumbersome and gets in the way if you want to use the other burners.

I hope I will love it in time, since I will not have to worry about family reunions with a pan as big as this.
