After hearing a coworker raving about how much his wife love them, I had bought my first pair of Ove gloves for one of my girlfriends as a birthday gift. She is a great cook & spends alot of time in the kitchen, so I thought this would be perfect for her. 2days later I got a call from her telling me how she hadn't got to try them out yet, but her husband thought they were great. Turns out he was doing some remodeling & working on some copper pipes that had become too hot to hold. He remembered her telling him about the Ove gloves & all the great uses & figured he would put them to the test. They worked as promised & protected his helpers hands, while allowing him to easily grip the pipes.

Since then I have purchased an ove glove for everyone in my family. They all find them very useful in their own way. I find it most handy when working with our pellet stove, my grandmother loves it for handling cast iron pans & kitchen stuff, & Im anxious to see the good uses my brothers put theirs to.

One important thing that you do need to keep in mind is that the Ove glove does NOT work when wet!! So be careful if you happen to spill some hot soup or something on it, because it wont protect your hands from the heat. One suggestion I would make to the makers of this product is to manufacture them in a couple of different sizes. I do find them to be a bit bulky and Im not considerred petite. So for those women who have smaller hands, it could be difficult to handle smaller objects.

Otherwise, considering all the different uses for them & the low price, I don't see how you could really go wrong!!

I first saw a friend using an `Ove' Glove during Christmas. I was fascinated to see that such a thing existed. They are great. I like the flexibility they give to the 4 fingers, unlike oven mittens that feel so clumsy. It is also machine washable. I recommend buy two for handling big trays.
