Apparently this sort of cookware is only good for preparing items with water. I used the "frying pan" one time to fry some corn tortillas last night, With a LOT of olive oil on the bottom of the pan, not floating in oil, just doused, the tortillas stuck and broke apart, they stuck to the bottom in places, and after only 4 tortillas it took scrubbing, soaking overnight, scrubbing another 15 minutes, finally nothing worked except the green scrubber and some stainless steel powder. Now the inside black appears to be pitted with little white specks where maybe the black is coming off. THIS IS ONE USE. So the "frying pan" cannot be used for frying unless you don't mind the pan being soiled permanently afterward. I'm not sure why they coat the frying pan with black and the other two pans with a white coating, which again works fine for cooking things in water. It's just a whole LOT of money for pretty pans that aren't really usable. I will have to buy other pans that I can use for frying unless I want to be spending a lot of time scrubbing and cleaning, but even then, if I ruin the thing what is the point. I followed the directions and have kept them oiled, but the other thing that was really irritating is that they place a sticker ON THE BOTTOM of the pans, which is very hard to remove completely. I had thought the one on the bottom of the frying pan was completely gone until I used it last night and afterward found black things stuck on the back it was pieces of the sticker. I LOVE the look and the color, however these pans are REALLY HEAVY, twice what I had and I thought those were pretty heavy. I was hoping I was getting those again, pans from the 70's that were stick free and finally wore out 40 years later! I can't find those anywhere, not even in fancy stores. I bought these thinking they would be close to what I had. The smaller pot in this three piece is so small I ordered the bigger one for another $158 and now I am thinking seriously about returning them all. For THAT kind of money I should be able to get a four piece set of cookware that is useful, that is non stick, that is, maybe not as attractive, but also not so dang heavy! I wanted to love these because I love the color, style, and the French-ness of them, but I'm really thinking I should just return them. Let's see what Amazon says now when I call....hold...oh, gotta finish here to get the order number. I'm sure they will allow me to return, they always do within 30 days, If not, I will do an update.
