Handle sleeves this silicone LC one are a must if you ever use cast iron skillets. I use this silicone sleeve on my Lodge pans most often. It's pretty tight on the handles, which can make slipping it on a hot pan a bit of a chore. However, I typically remember to put it on before cooking.

This one has a distinct advantage over my cloth Lodge sleeve, as another reviewer noted. I can rinse the skillet without removing the sleeve in fear if getting it wet and burning my hand. The water instantly removed the cloth's insulating abilities.

The silicone can get quite hot, but if you use your skillets on a properly-sized burner, this shouldn't be an issue.

My favorite part about this sleeve is washing it. Rinse with soapy water and air dry; requires 20 seconds of hands-on work max. I'd recommend this sleeve to any fan of cast iron cooking.

I purchased these to use with my Lodge Cast Iron Skillet. They fit over the handle easy. Not an overly tight fit, they slide on and off easily. You can still feel the heat through the silicone, but it is not over whelming and you can still pick up the skillet. Much better than accidently touching a cast iron pan with nothing covering the handle. Good product, I am not aware of better products out there, I would recommend this to someone using cast iron, as it helps you from accidently burning yourself and makes the pans more manageable.

I have several pieces of Le Creuset cookware including a frying pan. This sleeve fits perfectly over the handle of the frying pan.

When you have cast iron cookware like the Le Creuset, the handle gets hot when you're cooking. This sleeve is a must-have as it allows you to grab the handle without burning yourself. It is also more compact and easier to use than a pot holder. I'd highly recommend this item if you have Le Creuset frying pans.

Some people gave low marks because they said the item didn't fit on their pan. Perhaps they were attempting to use it on some other brand of frying pan with a different shape handle. I figured that it may work for other pans. But since it's a Le Creuset branded item, I assumed it was intended specifically for Le Creuset frying pans.

For your other cast iron handles on cookware, Duncan 2-Piece Short Handle Holder, Red are a particularly useful addition to the kitchen. Much more compact and easy to use than pot holders!

I bought this to use with my antique Griswold #8 cast iron skillet. I did this knowing it wouldn't be a great fit.

+: It's dishwasher safe and seems fairly durable. Provides a decent grip. It does protect against accidental burns from that handle sticking out.

-: My hand still gets pretty hot when picking up the pan by this sleeve. A fair amount of heat gets through, especially at medium flame or above.

In retrospect, a good glove would probably be better. This is just OK or, as they say in the military, "mission adequate".
