Cute item with the little piggy shape. If i had put more forethought into this i would have realized that using it on bacon which when laid side by side is square is rather pointless seems the bacon doesn't fit under it and is only flat in the center. Made in China from some "Old Mountain" there....we cant make anything in the USA anymore.

The handle has a very sharp finish on the end of the spiral that scratches my hand. Also, the screws that hold the handle attach from the side that sits on the bacon and therefore all the grease and bits stick in those indents making it hard to clean.

I love my press, it fits in the bottom of my frying pan. It is wonderful. I don't worry that my bacon is longer than the press. Bacon usually shrinks up; I turn it once during frying. If it is really long, I cut it in half before cooking. I liked my press so well, that I got one for my son.

This really works great on steaks and burgers, also. Works on many things that you are going to fry that may curl up and cause uneven browning. If you are not used to cast iron cookware, then you might not like it, but I have no trouble with it at all. I've used it on burgers, steaks, ground sausage, bologna, and ham so far. The only complaint I have is that it is not perfectly round but has those silly pig feet, nose, and ears on it.
