We cook everything on this... From thick steaks to pancakes and eggs. Yes, it is cast iron, and it is NOT pre-seasoned. So you have to know how to take care of it. If used and cared for properly, I see no reason to find fault in this product. We own a full set of Le Crueset cookware, and for the past 9 months, used this more than anything else. If cared for properly, it just gets better with age.

I would not recommend this product.
It is extremely bumpy and rough on the cooking surface. You can file down your finger nails with it.

I am extremely disappointed in this product, but even more disappointed with this company. I've never used cast iron before, so have no knowledge of use and care. There were no instructions at all with this product. Consequently, I used the griddle before seasoning it (I didn't realize that was necessary), and now have yuck all over my new griddle that won't come off. I had to go online to learn about seasoning my griddle. I've contacted this company numerous times for help and they didn't respond at all.
