The 10 and 12" combo makes more sense and is a better bargain than the 8 and 10" combo set offered under the commerical line. I cook for two and rarely used the 8" pan in my old set. The 12" pan is a bonus because you hardly find it in a cookware set, and the price of buying it from open stock will exceed the cost of this combo pack. In addition, it easily accomodates cooking for two or more and has enough surface area to prepare large portions without crowding the pan. I am really pleased with this set and enjoy using it.
The Commercial Nonstick line was discontinued but Calphalon still offers the lifetime warranty. The price of this set varies between $49 & $60 dollars, depending upon who is offering it for sale. A lesser quality 10" nonstick skillet alone costs between $20 and $30 so this is really a steal.

Used for 8 months and these pans are wonderful. Egg Omelettes cook with ease on our gas stove. Very easy to control heat and produce and evenly cooked Omelette. Lids from other Calphalon pans do fit these pans as well my good luck as this helps to melt the toppings and let the egg cook through for the kids. The 10" works well for a very thin one egg omelette as it just skins the whole pan just right.
Non stick has held up well and I devote these two to just eggs.
$49.00 delivered is a great for these two.

If you stir your food with a spatula while cooking, these pans are a good value, especially when purchased at a discount during a promotion. The thick anodized exterior provides good heat transfer and the non-stick surface makes cleanup easy. These pans should last several years judging from the quality construction. If you like to stir your food by picking up the pan and tossing the contents, you'll quickly discover the pans main flaw. To easily control a pan while tossing the contents, the handles need to have some width to them. Unfortunately, the handles on these pans are poorly designed from an ergonomic standpoint. They are thin, very smooth, and nearly round. This makes the pans difficult to control while tossing food and makes emptying the contents by rotating the pan quite difficult. Another handle design flaw is that the only portion of the handle that is thick enough to provide adequate grip is located relatively far away from the pan, making these already heavy pans even more difficult to lift.
If you stir with a spatula, these are 5 star pans. If you toss your food, these pans are worthy of only 3 stars.
