Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Here is an unbiased rundown of the facts about this.
It's a stove, food warmer, grill, fat trapper, buffet warmer, is dishwasher safe, and heats all the way up to 450 degrees.
It's powerful so you never get the grey meat you can get when it cooks too slow at too low a heat. This sears meat to perfection. There is an aluminum bottom that has the heating element embedded in the center of it. There aren't any cool spots. The heat is even and goes all the way out to the edges. Since the heat goes all the way up to 450, the meat is carmelized and seared. If your meat isn't being carmelized as it cooks you are losing flavor.
I made a vegitarian dinner on this grill. I cooked carrots, brussel sprouts cut in half, peppers, onions, asperagus, mushrooms, tomatoes, plus I even put some pineapple chunks on this briefly and it was all delicious. I blanched the carrots and brussel sprouts for ten seconds before putting them on the grill. They all came out with beautiful grill marks, so good.
I never cook chicken with skin but I got a small cut up chicken, left the skin on, and cooked it on this and most of the fat drained off, and it was crisp on the outside with the marks, and moist and tender on the inside. I put two ears of corn on at the same time.
No grease sits in a pan, it all drains away. Barbecue sauce didn't drip through this like it does on open grills.
I would love to have another one for dinner parties so I can cook more food.
Nothing ever sticks to this. I can use my metal utensils on it without scratching it.
I like that they make a point of saying how this doesn't contain any harmful chemicals.
I made one huge pancake on the griddle side of this, spreading the batter all the way to the edges. I put a lot of berries in the batter as it cooked. I then rolled it up while still on the grill and it was evenly browned all the way to the edges, and I served it with some strawberry sauce and whipped cream, cut into slices.
You can fit six grilled cheese sandwiches on the griddle.
This will be nice in the winter when it's too cold to grill outside.
I happen to really like this grill. I can't find anything to complain about at all with it and while it isn't a large grill it's a medium sized one which fits my needs. Everything I've made on it has been delicious. And I love how I can put it in the dishwasher too.
It's tastier and easier than trying to fry things in a pan on the stove. In fact, it's way better tasting. Tonight I will be cooking wild salmon on this with some corn and tomato slices. In fact lately I've been cooking all my dinners on this. If I could find a negative I would report it here but I can't. I really do love it.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I've been looking to replace my old griddle that had pieces of Teflon peeling off when I cooked. These are my observations regarding this particular product.Pros:
Steady and uniform heat. We made English muffins from scratch and the griddle maintained the heat without scorching the bottom of the muffins. The evenness was quite impressive.
Not Teflon, nice smooth ceramic surface. Reminds me of a baking stone with a coating. A bit porous but with a coating that leaves the surface smooth and easy to cook with.
Long and wide. The width of this griddle made it possible for a 10.5" tortilla to fit perfectly for an awesome burrito DD is learning how to make large burrito style tortillas from scratch.
Grill marks. Despite of the finished glossy surface, the ribs make nice grill marks while keeping the burgers juicy.
Can use any type of utensils. I like to cook with metal utensils most of the time so no problem using them with this griddle.
Overall, well built and good design. It is sturdy and easy to clean.
Looks and feels durable.
Cons:
Takes time to get to temperature. Once you reach the desire temperature it is steady but it takes time to get there.
There is not much of a slope so the fat doesn't want to run down the hole naturally. Not a problem when using the smooth surface but more difficult when using the grill side of it.
Underneath dripping pan. Not good covering where the hole is. I've had bacon grease in between the pan and the plastic base.
Too expensive for a product that it is manufactured in China.
This griddle has a lot of good features but in my opinion the cons have weight that's why I listed them. Please feel free to ask anything regarding this griddle before hitting the unhelpful button. I am happy to answer any question to help with your decision of purchasing a new griddle. Thanks.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This is a very attractive, heavy duty weight, combination grill and griddle. It has a dialed temperature setting for cooking and an indicator light that goes out when the desired temperature is reached. It does heat. It is easy to clean. It has a nice surface. We're just not impressed with how well it cooks. It is slow to reach the desired heat and very slow to actually cook anything, especially on the grill side. It took forever to cook a few burgers. I had to totally flatten them to get them to cook through. Just to heat through some smoked sausage was taking so long, I took them off and finished them in a skillet to keep the rest of the meal from getting cold.
The griddle side does fine with eggs and warming precooked meats. Again, it takes too long to reach whatever temperature you have set.
The "instructions" are unbelievably lacking in suggested temperatures for their own grill and cooking surface. In fact, there are zero listings other than medium, well-done, etc without any distinctions for types of food.
The engineers obviously never used the product. There is a drip pan that is the exact size of the cook surface. Unfortunately, there is a gap between the cook surface and the side of the housing that lets smaller food and drips go over the side. From there it might stop on the casing or slide down its slick sides and onto your counter top. Having made the drip pan extend for the opening in the casing would have been a huge help. And, since there is no tilt to the cook surface the grease merely sits in the grill slots and doesn't actually run to the openings at the end of the grill. After several uses, we have not had to wash the drip pan at all.
Compared to other brands, it comes up short. It heats, but it is slow. We already own several George Foreman products that are much better at doing what this tries to do. Five stars for the appearance and cook surface; one star for the mechanics; two stars for the lack of any cooking instructions for their own product (maybe they didn't test it?); four stars for the cooking surface. Overall about three stars since there are less expensive options for actually cooking food.

I've been through my share of non-stick electric griddles over the years. All of them ended up losing their non-stick capability and a couple of them heated unevenly right from the start. Since I've read a good bit about the health concerns of using non-stick (Teflon) cookware, this time I wanted to get a ceramic non-stick surface that is PFOA and PTFE free. Now that I've used the unit a number of times, I'm finding that there are things I love about it and other things that I'm disappointed with.
First off, here is what I like about it:
The heating controls go up to 450 degrees which is higher than many models
The ceramic coating is healthier than Teflon and VERY non-stick
It heats evenly. I've filled the entire surface with pancakes and everything browns evenly with no "stripes" or pale areas.
It looks nice and appears to be sturdy and well constructed
Any type of utensils can be used on it
The grill side leaves grill-lines on meat and vegetables making them look more authentically grilled
Can go in dishwasher (I generally wash by hand, though, as it takes up too much space and fits awkwardly in my dishwasher)
And, the stuff I don't like:
Its cooking surface is smaller than my previous griddles
I find the drip pan can be somewhat ineffective and inconvenient to clean when cooking fatty meats on the grill side
It's a bit slow to reach the desired temperature; although once there, it seems to maintain the heat well
There's a gap between the griddle/grill and the support base where food and meat fats can fall in (over 1/2" in certain areas)
High-priced, especially for my use of it primarily as a breakfast griddle
My main reason for buying this product is for cooking large breakfasts for my family which sometimes includes a troop of extra college kids. For that purpose, I'm very happy with the griddle side and would give it a 4.5 rating (a drop of half a star for its limited size).
However, assuming that many Amazon customers will consider buying this product for its grilling capabilities also, I'm lowering my overall star rating to a 3.5. I've used the grill side for burgers and grilled vegetables. The veggies came out okay, but the grill doesn't seem to get quite hot enough for thick burgers or other meats in my opinion.
This product is a great option for those people who are primarily interested in its griddle capabilities (pancakes, French toast, eggs, etc.). It should also be considered by those people interested in a healthier alternative to traditional non-stick coatings. The grill capability is perfectly adequate; however, it's important that potential customers recognize that it's not going to sear meat like a skillet, George Foreman grill, or traditional BBQ grill will.
For those people, like me, who are using it primarily as a griddle, I highly recommend it.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I've had a few grills over the years. Some I've loved, some I've hated, but this Oster DuraCeramic Reversible Grill and Griddle wipes the floor with all of them. Seriously. This is one of the best thought-out kitchen appliances I've come across. The Oster DuraCeramic Reversible Grill and Griddle consists of three main pieces plus the plug. A large protective surround which remains cool to the touch holds a positively immense (I filled it with more than 9 cups of water without overflowing it!) metal drip pan that covers the entire bottom of the unit. The reversible ceramic grill-griddle rests inside the surround, which acts as a cradle. A fairly standard, though offset, plug fits into one end. Temperature controls ranging from Warm & Simmer through 450F are easy to reach and the indicator light is clear.
I've cooked every meal on the Oster DuraCeramic Reversible Grill and Griddle for well over a week. I've cooked bacon, burgers, liver and steak, turned out home fries, breakfast burritos, pancakes, grilled cheese, fried eggs and even some grilled veg and I must say, I am quite impressed. The cooking surface measures just about 11 x 14 inches. To call it "non-stick" is close to an understatement. You really almost don't need to add any oil or butter at all, other than for the flavor. There is plenty of room for 4 large pancakes, a half dozen burgers or grilled cheese or 8 ounces of bacon and it did a great job of heating flour tortillas and cooking English Muffins (I make my own.) You can even use it to make panini by using the grill side and either a bacon press or small cast iron skillet as the "press". Notably, this is also one of the most temperature stable grills I've ever used and is remarkably easy to clean.
I cannot begin to tell you how much I love this grill, but I must mention two very minor "drawbacks." First, I live in a large old Victorian house, so my kitchen is not exactly perfectly level. The first time I used this I had it on the counter with the drain holes on the "uphill" side, so I did as I have done with other grills and picked up the other end to "encourage" the bacon grease into the drip pan. That was a mistake. There is a gap between the outer protective cradle and the edge of the drip pan just wide enough to allow the redirected grease to drain onto the counter. Also, I prefer to store grills standing on one end. Sadly, that is not possible with the Oster DuraCeramic Reversible Grill and Griddle.
Grandma's $0.02 This is a fantastic grill-griddle combination that allows plenty of cook space and flexibility for smaller family. I would give this 10 stars if I could and can't recommend it highly enough!
