I received the item for Christmas and just returned it to the store for a second and final time. The first one needed to be returned due to a broken leg upon opening. The second one lasted about 1 month before the coating on the plates began peeling off. Thought about keeping it for the waffle iron but would rather have one whose handles will not burn my children's hands so they can make waffles themselves. I am all for supporting new ideas and would be great for a single person of a couple. Just needs some fine tuning.

Waffle iron heated evenly when on the correct setting

Removable plates are wonderful for cleaning!

Cooking plates for sausage, etc. worked well and removed for cleaning

Cons

Long time to cook waffles

Coating on cooking plates peeled off after 3 uses

Long time to heat up

All handles are hot it's hard to open must use hot pads

I bought the Hamilton Beach Breakfast Master for the waffle iron function. I was dissatisfied when the waffles were crunchy hard on the bottom and not even browned on the top. It's like the top heating element doesn't get hot enough. I made 2 different waffles. I turned the iron up even hotter hoping it would help, but the second waffle turned out even worse. It was almost burnt on the bottom and still not browned on the top. I will be looking for a better waffle iron.

First few waffles came out great, subsequently getting progressively worse. Perhaps the previous review about the Breakfast Master's coating explains why finished waffles became increasingly impossible to dislodge from the grid before having to blacken them for easier removal, making them worthless to eat. I hate this thing.

We got this as a gift. Waffles are very thick and it takes a long time to cook each one of them, so breakfast for 3 takes us about an hour. Also, every part of the appliance, the handles of the waffle and skillet plates, the top and bottom of the device, the thing that you need to grab to close and open the device and even the base of the handle in the flat skillet get extremely hot. It took me a while to not get burned when using it. Do not buy it. I would return it except I don't have the receipt, box or anything! :(

Smaller than appears in picture. will barely fit 2 eggs. Works ok but wish it was bigger, also fry pan slides around.
