In a word YES! I've tried every poacher on the market, from the stupid floaty things that took forever and never did make a decent poached egg, just a watery mess, to the microwave plastic things that opened and exploaded in the microwave. I even tried a sauce pan with vinegar-UGH. I really didn't want to spend this much money just to poach eggs, but this product is the poster child for "you get what you pay for". It's a beautiful pan. The egg cups are very high quality non stick as is the skillet underneath. The skillet is 8" in diameter and about 2" deep with straight sides. Even though it's non stick I still use a silicone spatula KitchenAid Silicone Spoon Spatula, Black. Directions are easy: boil about 1 1/2 cups of water in the skillet. Crack eggs (I use one whole egg, and one egg white in another cup)into the cups and set the tray into the skillet. Put the lid on. Takes 5-7 minutes. They said to spray the cups even though they are non stick. (Eggs are known to stick to some non-stick coatings even though they shouldn't.) My biggest concern was the size of the cups and whether they would hold a jumbo egg. They do! This was a great Christmas gift to myself!

This is a great egg poacher. Eggs do not stick if one uses a minimal amount of oil in the cups. One can break the egg directly in the cup saving dishes to clean. It is easy to clean. One has to do two or three tests to get the egg yoke done at the desired place but after that it is fast and easy.

I Just made my first perfect poached eggs ever. I got the water simmering, put a 'finger dab' of unsalted butter in each cup ... and then with the cups on the bottom of the sink, I broke one regular 'large egg' in each cup. Then used kitchen tongs to set the cups in place, clapped on the sturdy glass lid ... and waited 5 and a half minutes.

Again, using tongs (a cocktail fork would also do as there is a little slot at the top of each cup to insert it I slid each of the perfectly formed eggs on to a freshly toasted and buttered English muffin. Care should be taken her lest you accidentally turn them upside down.

Although I am a great fan of Jacques Pepin ... this method beats his six ways from Sunday.

BTW ... I chose to get one "LIKE NEW" for half price. It was absolutely perfect and appeared that the package had never even been opened by its original owner.

And, when you are not poaching eggs, this is a really nice and heavy and non-stick straight sided 8" skillet with a vented glass top.
