2) Can be used as a spoon rester guess it depends on the type of spoon [very small and light]. My spoon/spatula either fell into what I was cooking or fell off altogether onto the floor, the counter, the stove...
3) Use as a strainer this isn't large enough to hold your ingredients in place as you pour off grease, water, whatever.

I ordered three of these as I wanted to keep one & give the other two as gifts. What a waste of money.When you drain pasta, either water remains in the pot or the pasta falls out into the sink.
When you drain chop meat the grease doesn't all drain without the meat falling out.
