If you want to research this Winco (not "Winware" as Amazon has it listed) product or any others in this line, here is the web information: I provide this because "Winware" is the wrong name (the label on the pan says Winco), and this pan doesn't come up easily on a Google search; you have to look for it. The company's toll free number is: 1-888-946-2682. The Winco product number, which you will need (not provided by Amazon) is SSFP-8. I would strongly encourage you to fully research any Winco products before you buy them.
The two major things I was looking for was the gauge of the stainless steel and whether this pan would go in the dishwasher. This information is not provided either on the Amazon page or on the product label, so I was hopeful for good news, but it wasn't. Most high quality pans are a level of 18 gauge stainless steel, preferably 18/10. This pan is 20 gauge. The lower the gauge number, the thicker the steel, meaning that this pan is thinner than most quality cookware. The customer service representative did say that this pan uses induction heat, if that is important to you. I did give it the acid test, making scrambled eggs with cream cheese, and it worked okay and cleaned up well. Also, this pan will tolerate the dishwasher.
From an appearance standpoint, this is a cheap looking pan. It's made in China, and it shows. The handle is riveted on, and I'm wondering whether it with stand up to normal use. I will revisit this review after I have used it for several months, but my initial outlook is pessimistic. Amazon currently has this pan on sale for $14.88. If I had this to do over, I wouldn't buy the pan at all, but having it, I think it's worth about $10 given the gauge of the steel and that conventional 8 inch lids will not fit it.
September 10, 2011 update: This pan has held up better than expected, although it does not get too much use. The handle is sturdy (no flex) and the pan's finish has held up through dishwasher cleaning. I still would not recommend spending the current price for this pan, however.

Good Quality pan.I bought this pan in summer 2010, in spite of an earlier review. Maybe the product changed since previous review, but I find the current item to be of good construction. It's solidly made, and appears to use the high-quality stainless specified (18/10 grade top notch material). Perfectly acceptable for home use, low price.
EDIT: I forgot to say, 18/10 stainless means the base steel contains 18% chrome and 10% nickel (nominal). This is an expensive grade, and under normal use you shouldn't need to worry about corrosion for a couple thousand years or so. Also, the pan won't melt until you get it up to ~2800*F +/-. Good stuff. FYI

I don't often use a fry pan this large, but occasionally it's the best option. I looked at a lot of pans, not wanting to spend a great deal of money for a pan seldom used. I eventually settled on this pan from Winco, and I'm glad I did. There are two 12" fry pans produced by Winco and they do differ in construction. The pan I bought is closest to what you might find in a restaurant; pretty basic with a hollow tube handle with hanging hole. The other model has a solid handle with hole, and from what I can tell, the encapsulated aluminum base extends up the sides. It also has a red silicone handle grip built in, and costs a bit more. The pan under review has an encapsulated bottom, curved sides (omelet style) that are stainless only; no aluminum in the sides. Considering the size of the pan and what I would use it for I thought it better to NOT have encapsulated sides; this would add to the weight of the pan and take more energy to heat. This pan is not overly heavy but certainly durable and pretty well balanced. The handle is held in place by four rivets and measures 10 1/2" long, with a 1" diameter. Being hollow the handle stays quite cool no matter how long it's on the stove, so a silicone sleeve is really unnecessary. There's a solid helper handle held in place by two rivets; a good idea when the pan is full of food. The external diameter of the pan at the lip edge is 13 1/8", about 12 5/8" internally. The external base of the pan, the part that contacts the burner, has a diameter of 10 1/2", and internally the flat cooking area is 10 1/4". The sides are 2 1/4" from base to lip. I've used this pan for a variety of cooking tasks involving simmering to searing, and I'm impressed by its' performance. The base heats evenly, even on an 8" electric coil, so that the outer edges carry nearly as much heat as the center and cooking is uniform. The cooking surfaces are not mirror finished; in fact they feel rather rough to the touch, and yet I've never had anything stick to this pan despite using some medium/high heat on occasion. And "eggs over easy" cooked up perfectly without sticking. Of course this means slowly preheating the pan up to temperature with a little light oil before any food is introduced, something that should always be done with any stainless pan to eliminate sticking. I've used only metal tools with this pan without introducing any real scratches, so the surface seems to be pretty durable. Like most stainless it will discolor depending on temperatures used and the acidity of the food, but Barkeeper's Friend easily returned this pan to "like new" condition. So I can't really find fault with this pan at all. It's not the prettiest pan on the rack, but it has handled every cooking task with minimal fuss and excellent results. If you want a really large fry pan for really little money that performs admirably, this is a very good choice, and I recommend it highly. Winco makes a flat stainless lid for their 12" fryers which I'm also impressed with, and I recommend that as well.Honest reviews on Best Download Winware Stainless Steel Fry Pans Deals
I love this pan. It's built tough and heavy. It seems better quality than the 18/10 steel set I currently love and have had for over a year. When you learn the proper way to use stainless pots and pans you'll find this one to be among your fav's. I do.The 14 inch pan can grill 4/6 hamburger patties easily in one round. I'll be breaking this out for dinner guest often. I can tell
