First it is great looking so I was hoping it would function as well as it looks. I make coffee at 6.30 am directly into the carafe via the cone filter, my husband gets up an hour later and his coffee is ready and piping hot the way he likes it. I get 4 average size mugs of coffee from the carafe and it stays hot for hours and no bitter taste. I like not having another appliance crowding the counter just wash and put away in the cupboard. If I needed more coffee at one time I would opt for a larger size but this is perfect for us.

Great. Keeps things hot a long time and the RSVP drip cone is a perfect fit and very stable. I'm glad I spent a few bucks more for the top on the new unit. Its very convenient and simple to use.

Wow. I've been using this almost daily for three years now. Still works great but the valve system in the top can get sticky and needs to be cleaned. I expect that will be the first thing to fail on this but hey I'm at 3 years and counting.

I'm a veteran survivor of many carafes, and I honestly think the AH-PB10S is the best I've ever owned. This is because 1) it keeps coffee "restaurant hot" (i.e., hot enough to be served at a coffee shop) for at least 4 hours, and even after 8 hours it's still quite drinkable, 2) stainless steel carafes I've had actually seem to suck the heat out leaving coffee merely warm after as little as 2 hours (even with double-walled construction, metal is a better heat conductor than glass), 3) the build quality of this carafe is immediately apparent (e.g., there's no fumbling when screwing in the lid--it easily screws in and automatically aligns), and 4) its one-touch thumb lever is very easy to use. The only other comparable carafe might be Zojirushi's AFFB-10S, but in e-mail communication with Zojirushi customer support, this carafe apparently uses a "latching" type thumb button which requires a bit more cleaning/maintenance, and if you don't clean it, the lever may jam. The AH-PB10S seems to be a newer design which doesn't have any such potential issues.

The carafe is easy to use and looks great on our kitchen counter. I only wish it would retain the temperature of the hot beverage longer. If you want your beverage to remain hot beyond 8 hours, I would look for a different thermal carafe.
